We have been here a couple of times and LOVE it. Very friendly staff, wide variety of food (especially for such a small place) with specials made from local ingredients.

Lots of local craft beers and great food. Had the Turkey Philly and a cup of Beef & Pepper Soup. Nice place to hang out when the Cubs game got rained out.

Walking into this place gave me the feeling of a small town bar where I grew up. Full bar with lots of craft beers. The menu is diverse! I ordered the openface barbecue beef. It was served on a fresh pretzel roll with a side of toasted barley and grilled veggies & spaetzel. The barbecue had a great smoky taste... More

Within a week we have been to the restaurant for dinner. I cannot say enough good things about the food here. On the first visit we tried the beef barley soup. The soup is rich with flavor and loaded with beef. Also, we tired the pulled pork stuffed ravioli - this is a unique dish packed with flavor and served... More

This was my second trip here, and I came for dinner with my parents. We all loved our food. Both my parents started with the Beef Barley soup. My father and I had the pulled pork ravioli. I highly recommend it. My mother had their salmon and asparagus pasta special. The service was good and the staff is very nice.... More

No matter what you see on Diners, Drive Inns & Dives, or what you look up about the menu online will matter! Every time I think I know what I am going to order, I hear or see the specials, and that is what I go for! It is has never been a bad strategy. I love taking my out... More

This is off the beaten path, but well worth it. Excellent food and service. Mark was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the specials. Great little tavern style atmosphere. We would definitely return if in the area again. Come early if visiting on a weekend night. We were seated immediately at 5:30 but they started packing them in after that. Loved... More

Iron Barley definitely wasn't what we expected when we walked through the door. When our appetizers hit the table we were pleasantly surprised. We had the sausage platter and it was so delicious. Three different types of sausage, bread, BBQ sauce etc. I was ready to say Uncle after that but no, the main course was on it's way. The... More
