This little gem totally captures the Louisiana spirit with the way it's set up and the menu. Great variety and pleasant people make this place a must stop in. Plus the dessert menu offers sample sizes so you can try anything without breaking the bank.

I have been to Hwy 66 road House several times. We live close and my dad lives the ribs. I am unimpressed. There is little to nothing for the health conscious diner. The salad is terrible. The BBQ spaghetti was nothing to hang your hat on. I would pass. Much better places to eat in Webster Groves. But if you... More

Thank you for taking the time to write this review, Lisa. I am happy to hear that your father enjoys the ribs, but disappointed to hear you didn’t enjoy your meal. We absolutely love hearing that our guests enjoyed their experience and so it’s always frustrating to us to hear otherwise. That being said, I’d like to assure you that... More

Stopped into Highway 61 Roadhouse on a Friday evening for some dinner and live blues and got so much more than expected. We arrived around 7:30 and were seated right away. We got a table downstairs right next to the stage where Aaron Griffin and his band were playing. Our waitress was very attentive and had our drinks to us... More

My wife and I have been going to Highway 61 Roadhouse on several occasions over the past year, and we have never been disappointed with the wonderful brunch there. There is a definite Cajun flair with great food, and you are also free to order your own "made to order" items as well. Add to that the build your own... More

I tried to leave a review on yelp and I'm not sure if it was successful or not. My husband and I stopped in for an early dinner and a couple glasses of wine on our way out of town the other night. We sat up stairs with Alyssa, very sweet and funny girl! The potato skins were huge and... More

This restaurant was featured on Diner, Drive-ins and Dives so we wanted to see if the food and atmoshpere lived up to Guy's review and it definitely did! We sat right next to the stage, which had a live band called The Lonely Boys that played music from the 50's and 60's. They were very good. The food was delicious!... More

Great homemade macaroni & cheese for the kids. Good beer. Sampled the DDD sampler & Voodoo Salad (blackened chicken was SPICY:). Barbecue spaghetti was too sweet for our taste but we LOVED the potstickers. Very good service. A good experience!

If you like Cajun and Creole this is one of the best. My favourite is the smothered catfish. The red beans and rice and some of the best I have ever had.

We had dinner with friends. I had the build your own burger and was very tasty. My friend tried the Bar-B-Que spaghetti and found it had an unusual but good taste. The women had the apple salad which was OK. The dressing was an apple sauce that was too thick to spread all over the salad but was added to... More

Love this place! Great service and wonderful food. The environment is as unique as the food. Cajon, BBQ, and oh will also find the usual burgers if you are not adventurous with food. They have a wallet watcher menu with appetizers, entres, sides and dessert. Advertised as a "smaller" version of the main menu it is still more than I... More

Description
Highway 61 Roadhouse and Kitchen was conceived during a trip on Highway 61 between St. Louis and New Orleans. This stretch is called "The Blues Highway". It originates in the agriculturally and culturally fertile land of the Mississippi Delta; it is said that American music, as we know it, traveled and developed up the river. From the Zydeco and Jazz of New Orleans to the Urban Blues of Memphis' Beale Street to the piano based St. Louis Blues, great music has spanned this route. The combination of the rhythmic sounds of slaves and their instruments of the new world gave America its roots of unique musical styles that have topped the charts and soothed souls for centuries. The various cultures that created such distinctive and world-renowned music had other influences as well. The food of this section of Highway 61 brings us the savory tastes and complex flavors that American's hearts and palates have fallen in love with. No one can resist the spicy etouffee or jambalaya from the Cajun and Creole kings of New Orleans. The Delta brings us items like cornmeal breaded catfish, hot tamales and sweet potatoes. As this culinary journey continues to Memphis, you will find mounds of slow smoked pulled pork and racks of seasoned dry rubbed ribs. St. Louis, whose contributions include pork steaks, toasted ravioli and what was initially a mistake that has turned into one of the area's most loved desserts, gooey butter cake. These are just a few examples of the fine foods this rich region has contributed to America's gastronomic lore. We hope we have included some of your favorites on our menu and if you have a suggestion please let us know. We hope you enjoy our "Southern Roadhouse Hospitality" along with the food and music that we have selected from this section of Highway 61. Whether it's the great seafood and spicy Cajun foods along with Jazz and Zydeco from Louisiana, the soulful cooking and Blues from the Mississippi Delta, the Rockabilly of the Sun label as well as the Soulful sounds of the Stax and Hi labels as well as the mouth watering barbecue made so famous in Memphis, or, of course, our hometown greats Chuck Berry, Fontella Bass, and Ike and Tina Turner, and a mouth watering pork steak and gooey butter cake. We promise to bring you the best in food and music that these areas have to offer.
