Went for a quick breakfast. My husband got an omelet and biscuits with gravy and I had an omelet as well. The gravy was almost bland, he enjoyed him omelet. I asked for no onions and it came full of green onions. Was told they just started putting them in, waitress wasn't aware even though she wrote no onions on... More

This past Sunday was our first Visit to The Engine House Café. Appropriately named because it is located in the old Fire Station in Havelock. I know this area of town very well. We had heard good things about the restaurant. It is small with about 20 tables so its a good idea to get there early. it opens at... More

Visiting relatives in Lincoln and went to The Engine House twice for breakfast. Havelock is a neat, interesting area in Lincoln and the Engine House is a great fit. Old historic fire house with great memorabilia - and the food is great also. Service was spot on, servers were pleasant and accommodating. Will definitely return when in the area.

Fun part of town now since the updates and I think the food here is really excellent. Good for family as well.

While traveling from Chicago to Denver, we came to The Engine House Cafe due to high ratings, but were disappointed with very slow service (1 pancake, 1 bowl oatmeal), store bought cinnamon roll, no butter, poor quality food. Perhaps the surroundings were interesting, but service and food were poor.

Decided when we got back to the car to just wait. Great Choice. Food was great. we has chix fried steak and eggs, chix fried steak dinner, bacon... More

When some friends were in town from Minneapolis, I scoured the internet for a great Sunday brunch experience to really "wow" them. The Engine House was rated quite highly, so we drove across town and waited about 15 minutes for a table. Unfortunately, our meal was nothing to brag about. We waited to be seated, which is fine -- except... More

I eat here with my family on every holiday weekend when I visit Lincoln. Great food worth the time to wait in line to get in. Their breakfasts are amazing and they are very good about making sure your drinks are always full. Before your drinks are empty they have a full one ready and on your table. When you... More

The Engine House is a cute breakfast place in Havelock. The food is just ok, though. My omelette had cheese melted on top - in a microwave to a lava hot temperature. It's just fine but the long waits on weekends aren't worth it in our opinion.

The Engine House Cafe has good breakfast food, but on Sundays you should expect to wait as the eating area is somewhat small and fills quickly.
