We were given a lovely warm welcome and served with a fabulous roast lunch. Amazing desserts. Can't wait to go back for more tasty food!

You either have to be in the know or be recommended, as this lovely village pub is well off the beaten track. The food and service are always wonderful. Front of house is the wonderful Niki and her husband runs the kitchen. Without hesitation I would recommend this pub. It is lovely on a winter day with a roaring fire,... More

This is the third time we have eaten at the Kings Head and, as before, the food was superb. Very friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. I can see why the Kings Head has such a great foodie recommendation.

The owners of The Kings Head, Andrew and Niki, who have been there for 14 years continue to offer a warm welcome to us and our many friends and relatives who visit Cornwall. Can't recommend this pub highly enough. It takes a little finding along narrow country lanes but well worth the effort and indeed it's location is part of... More

I was visiting from New Zealand and my sister and brother-in-law, who live in Cornwall, took me here on New Years day for lunch. What an amazing place! From the time you walk through the traditional entrance everything is perfect. Homely (nice open fire) with a warm welcome from both the owners and the staff it was a setting that... More

I would like to say a huge thank you to Niki, Andrew and the staff at the King's Head for such a wonderful New Year's Eve experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with friendly smiles and a magical atmosphere. Our table looked stunning with candles and decorations and the evening entertainment was so funny, bringing the whole... More

Chistmas eve rushing over to this pub for lunch as recommended. got a bit lost in lanes and ended up at 6 mites past two. This was the harsh and unfriendly response. the first time to the question are we in time for food. "The kitchen is closed". to the response 'is there anything available, even a toasted sandwich' -... More

We visit this pub restaurant at least twice a year, in the summer as a family and in the winter as a couple. The food and service has never disappointed. I read some reviews on TA before our recent visit and on the basis of one chose the Apple, Leek & Cheddar Cake which was excellent as was the Haddock... More

Me, my partner and my family had an evening meal here and it was truly wonderful. From the roaring fire, to the welcoming and friendly staff it was a perfect evening. The food was delicious, highly recommend the fish pie, with an extensive and varied choice of both food and drink. Will most definitely be returning this winter, what a... More

The highlight of our trips to Cornwall is always the meal at the King’s Head. It has never failed to live up to expectations and indeed seems to have improved each time. Having the previous evening had a rather disastrous meal at another pub we felt in need of some better fortune. The food had been excellent but the noise... More

Description
Just a few miles outside Truro & about 8 miles from St Mawes, deep in the beautiful countryside, you’ll find the Kings Head in the tiny hamlet of Ruan Lanihorne, this is a Country Pub with a warm welcome, great beers and an imaginative menu. Summer evenings on the Terrace, or in the sunken Beer Garden, winter time finds us with roaring log fires......why not come along and see for yourself..
