This is a fabulous place to lunch with super fresh ingredients and breads . The portions are generous and with a multitude of healthy options . The turkey is fantastic and I could ask for variations according to taste on the sandwich . The teas are gourmet as are the huge selections of baked goods , fresh baked breads, and... More

The biggest burger and giant onion rings. Not fast food. Cooked to order. I recommend eating here. I'm usually here in the early am getting breakfast. It is the best bakery in Carson City, NV.

We've eaten many times and their sandwiches are tops!! They're not the cheapest in town, but you get what you pay for!! LOVE the turkey sandwiches - they use real roast turkey - not pressed lunch meat - and they're not stingy with the ingredients. The sheepherder's bread is the best around. SO SOFT, SO FRESH!!

I have been to all 3 Schatts bakeries on the East side of the Sierra (Carson, Mammoth & Bishop). They all are good & do not dissapoint with the great breads & pastries. I came here for breakfast & had a latte & ham & cheese crossiant. Everything was as good as my usual stop in Mammoth when I am... More

We stopped by on the way out of town. Purchased a bran muffin, cranberry scone, oatmeal cookie and toffee. While waiting, we noticed they were packaging some crackers with sunflower and assorted sesame seeds. We asked for a sample, and ended up buying a package. Everything was wonderful!

Since Interstate Brands bought and destroyed the great old San Francisco sourdough bakeries (and then went bankrupt) I've been on a search for the real thing. Even the "artisan" sourdoughs aren't - they use industrial dough, like Interstate Brands, with more additives than you can name. (My guess is that those additives, not Gluten, are what make people sick.) I'm... More

Not sure what has happened to this once reliable eatery. Just had the worst tuna melt I have ever had, tuna tasted stale and with over toasted bread. The guy who took the order was rude and the side salad looked like salad mix poured out of a bag and dumped on the plate. Used to be way better.

This Paul Schats is one of two as I believe the other one is in California. They have a great bakery and good food for lunch. They can be a little pricey so you can hit the day old rack if you don't want to spend a lot on their baked goods!
