Don't let the exterior scare you away! Driving up, I wasn't sure what to think but once you enter, the old school atmosphere and friendly wait staff couldn't be more welcoming or helpful, without being overbearing. The steak was unbelievable and the twice baked potatoes were to die for. 10/10.

My husband and I celebrated his birthday dinner at the Golden Steer Steakhouse. It is a restaurant that opened in 1958 (I believe someone said that it was Vegas' oldest steakhouse) and is full of charm! We were seated in a cozy booth in the corner. It had a brass plaque located on the wall behind us that said "Frank... More

I realize it is hard to mess up USDA prime grade beef provided it is cooked to the right temperature. But you certainly can enhance the experience. Golden Steer is NOT a "trendy, modern" edifice of contemporary design. Rather it is old style, dark wood paneled, and complete with red leather booths and waiters in tuxedos. The place had history... Old school steak house where the old stars went to eat. I can tell you the place was as good as any steak house I have dined at. Service was 5 stars, continuous but non-unobtrusive attention. I did the dry aged Strip and it was spot on in temperature and in quality. Hand tossed and hand made Caesar salads and... More

Excellent! Great food and service! Love the big booths. It's dark and such an old vibe to it. Love it. We started with the escargot and shrimp cocktail. Yummy! Then we had the table side Caesar salad then I enjoyed the table side Dover sole. My husband had New York strip and my 2 sons had porterhouse and eggplant parm.... More

Oozing with the sights, sounds and smell of an era long gone. Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra,Charles Bronson, John Wayne and many more judging by the photos and memorable thru out the restaurant. If your looking for a quiet place to have dinner this is not the place. Very poor acoustics when busy which is 99.9% of the time. Overall great... More

We visited Golden Steer the weekend after Thanksgiving. The location is relatively close to the Stratosphere hotel and is in a small shopping center. We had a later reservation (9:30), so the restaurant was mostly cleared out by the time we arrived. The service was good and the restaurant has an older feel with "Rat Pack" pictures all over the... What a step back in time to see old Vegas. Great decorations, photos on the walls but the seats were made a long time ago and not too spacious. No leg room what so ever in the seats. The food was again, just a little bland. We started with the best part of the meal which was the shrimp cocktail.... More

No shortage of steakhouses where you can find a great steak for a price, but few will have this combination of ambiance, service, if walls could talk history of celebrity diners, AND a great steak. Don't forget the Caesar salad prepared table side.

Very consistent food at the Golden Steer and another one of the gems off the strip. Great history of course going back to Sinatra, Elvis and even the movie Casino. They have left it as-is which makes it cooler today with all the hyped new restaurants on the strip. Can't go wrong with the steaks and table side Caesar is... More
