Food is very good and fairly priced. Small family owned restaurant. The crab cakes are wonderful. Lounge side is a lot of fun

Always an enjoyable experience dining at Lyons Den. I've eaten here for lunch with coworkers, a quick dinner & drinks in the bar before a concert and recently met a friend for dinner that I hadn't seen in years. The seafood dishes are my favorite. Fine dining with a fantastic lake view in a relaxing atmosphere. Looking forward to my... More
I`ve been here three times without being happy with the meal. You ask for medium well you get rare. You ask for a bottle of wine and they don`t have that bottle. You complain about the slow service and the manager gets angry. The ones that like, really like it. Maybe its me ?
Mitch, My name is Lauren Lyons, my husband Roland and I own The Lyons Den. I am very sorry to hear that you have not been happy in three visits to the Den, as you mentioned most people really like us. We pride ourselves in excellent food and service. If your steak was not cooked enough I hope you brought... More
Looking forward to another meal on New Year's Eve. This is the fourth year we done this and with an early reservation, we get the best seating and a quiet crowd. My wife enjoys the duck while I order a filet or roast prime rib. The prices are reasonable and the views of Lake Winnipesaukee are awesome in all seasons.
The Lyons Den is right on Lake Winnipesaukee overlooking a marina. The view is great and the atmosphere is warm in traditional New England setting. The service was OK, recognizing we were there mid-week, off season, in October with a reduced staff. The fish was very good, per my companions, the hamburg Ok, and the BLT could have been better.... My mother had heard about this out of the way place and we decided to try it out for lunch. Staff is friendly and helpful and the view is great of the docks and the lake. The large windows could have used a serious cleaning to enhance the view but we didn't let that stop our enjoyment of the view.... More
First, thank you very much for your kind words. I am guessing that your visit was earlier in September. Our very big, beautiful window was replaced on 9/26. Unfortunately earlier this summer it lost it's seal which created a very cloudy look. We were also able to replace the cracked corner window and keep the single seam like an aquarium.... More
We went on spec on a Friday night. We had to wait 30 mins as had not booked. It was worth it. The food was superb both in presentation and taste. The family who run it and the other staff were friendly but hard working. Highly recommend.
My table by the window had a great view! Service and the fried oysters were outstanding!! Being greeted so warmly by the owner was a really gracious touch too!!
Recently my husband and I stopped in for lunch. We had heard very good things about the Lyons' Den, and we finally tried it. We were very happy we did! The dining room is light and beautiful, overlooking the town dock in Gilford, Lake Winnipesaukee and several islands. We were seated close to the windows at a table with a... More
The Lyon's Den is located on a back road, off the main drag. Adjacent to Lake Winnipesaukee, our waitress made sure we were seated right next to the large picture windows so we could enjoy the views. The food was delicious and, the prices for lunch were very reasonable. We will definitely be coming back
