Umpleby's bakery is a popular cafeteria in Hanover, a small town largely occupied by students. Umpleby's serves tasty breakfast sandwiches and other foodstuff. Place is silent and an ideal place for a good discussion. My experience is that many customers were doing some academic exercises...More

Fresh bread, eggs and made to order. Couple that w fresh coffee and you have a nice fast breakfast. I had the eggs, cheddar and bacon on rye. Delicious. Pleasant staff.

A good place to meet with friends over coffee and food. Outdoor seating as well. Nice any time of the year! They host a Spanish group meeting as well so you can practice your Spanish and meet new people.

Comfortable atmosphere, and quiet! The choice of treats they offer makes it definitely trying on what to finally decide on. Great place to check out while visiting!

Excellent croissants, average cappuccino. Plenty of space to sit, fast service. Good addition to Hanover.

Okay baked goods in large, spacious spot. Looks like it would be better suited to being a full scale restaurant rather than bakery that offers baked goods and hot drinks. Not cozy or warm at all.

Breakfast samdwiches on home made bread!!! OMG! Plus the Broccoli Spread, like a pesto, was delicious on a bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich...on toasted whole wheat! Companion tried the scones and loved, loved, loved the cranberry walnut scone.

Also, good sandwiches. Good desserts. Good coffee and hot tea. Prototypical student coffee shop. I liked Umpleby's.

My family and I were walking around Hanover looking for a coffee shop or café where we could sit. Umpleby's was perfect for our needs. We shared a fruit tart and some cookies. Definitely a nice little bakery.

Can you please add sandwiches and/or lunch spot to your type of cuisines. Bakery is so limiting and doesn't really describe many places that sell sandwiches on homemade bread and coffee and salads etc.
