Stopped in for dinner & was greeted & seated quickly. Only 1 other couple for dinner & a few people at the bar. The staff was very friendly & the menu choices were good. However, the food and atmosphere was just OK. Nothing exciting, wouldn't go back, & it was expensive for the quality. I had higher expectations based on... More

Met some friends at C J Avery's on a Friday evening. We arrived just before 6PM and our friends were there at a high top table in the bar area. Our waitress Katie was attentive and brought our drinks while we chatted with our friends. Two of us ordered appetizers of French onion soup, which they said was excellent. We... More

We are local residents, and I have gone here for years whenever I'm in the mood for prime ribs. It's their specialty- they even have one whole page of their menu devoted to it. Last night, however, will be our last visit. We started with simple salads. Both wife and I received a large pile of (fresh) lettuce, topped with... More

Our first waitress was clearly inexperienced, not knowing how to answer questions about the food and then while our order was being prepared she ended her shift for the evening and left the building. A different waitress brought us our meals. I had initially wanted a scallop plate, but it came with haddock that I didn't want. The management would... More

The prime rib at C J Avery's is the best!! The flavor can't be beat, done as requested, delicious. Service is a little slow but we found other restaurants being the same, good help is hard to find. Don't pass up this place.

Our server was scarce, the owners were discussing her poor productivity in front of us, and the food was greasy and not as good as we remember.

The food was ok but very price for poorly cut piece of filet. Staff was vey nice. But overall I would say it's ok but prices are a little high for what it is.

The prices are expensive for the quality of the food. In comparison Fratellos is priced the same but the food is so much better. The service was very slow and it seemed like we were bothering her to do her job. It is full of what I think is regulars who probably are there all the time. Just not a... More

Their prime rib could not be any better. Verge toy seasoned and succinctly juicy. It is a nice neighborhood ambience. Only glitch was asking me twice what potato I wanted (baked) but still delivering mashed (they were good)

CJ Avery's bills itself as a steakhouse. It does have steak and they prepare it well to their credit. Many higher end restaurants don't, but the steaks tend to be a bit small and thin cuts so getting rare of medium rare is a bit of a challenge. The food quality is quite good, the portions are generous and the... More
