Three tomatoes is located in Lebanon, New Hampshire, a small town some 5-6 kilometres from the Dartmouth college. The restaurant is spacious and it serves an excellent selection of beef food, vegetarian and seafood prepared in an Italian style and of course a wide selection of pizzas. The list of craft beers is good and wines are also fine. Our... More

We have eaten here repeatedly over the past 15 years, despite it being over an hour away from home. The atmosphere is noisy and clattering/fun, with a queiter back dining room area. The menu items are mostly all a la carte, so not a lot in the way of great value package deals! Nevertheless, the food presentation is outstanding, and... More

Met friends for lunch. Ah, table next to a window. Very efficient waitstaff and so pleasant. I love their famous tomato soup. The salad was fresh with small greens and try generous to accompany my half sandwich which was thick with meat, cheese, and lettuce. Never rushed and allowed to linger.

I've wanted to try Three Tomatoes for some time because of how much people rave about it. Sadly it did not live up to its reputation. It was a busy night, so perhaps that was the issue. We were seated promptly and our waitress was prompt but brusque and clearly in a hurry. We ordered and two of our three... More

Returned to Sweet Tomatoes after somewhat of an absence and had a good evening. First, the food was quite good, especially the pizza that one of us ordered, while the pasta dishes ordered by others were also most agreeable. The server was friendly and efficient while the restaurant's ambiance was okay. The only critique that I would give was that... More

Three Tomatoes Trattoria has always been our go to place on the Upper Valley due to the fresh and local ingredients. I am never disappointed. The restaurant is fashioned after a typical casual Italian restaurant with that fabulous wood fired oven in the corner, wall murals and hexagonal tiled floor. The house wine is served in ceramic rooster pitchers giving... More

We are regular customers since 2004, at least once per month, and we have never, never been disappointed by the food and the service. Large selection of tasty yet healthy food, we like in particular some appetizers, white pizzas, seafood pastas, meat and fish specials, and desserts (more specifically their 'spumoni bomba'). This is a kind of restaurants in need... More

We went on a Sunday night of president's day weekend. When we walked in the hostess/manager was away from the stand for 10 minutes before she came to take a name of the waiting people ahead of me. She took the person before me and then walked away for another 10 minutes without acknowledging me or the other people waiting.... More

Thank you for taking the time to write your comment. I was not here last Sunday night but was briefed on the situation. You are absolutely right we were definitely under staffed for the volume of business we did last night. Our goal is to staff accordingly based on historical information on special holiday weekends, events, weather, etc. We were... More

I reserved a table a few days in advance and even though they had people waiting they honored the reservation as soon as we arrived and seated us. The wood fired cooking hearth is awesome as you come into the door. The wait staff was very friendly, but the real treat was the food! My girlfriend had the Tomato soup,... More

Three Tomatoes Trattoria opened on November 20th, 1990. Over the years I have traveled extensively throughout Italy in search of new ideas, recipes, and great wines to bring back to Three Tomatoes. The source of inspiration continues to be the simple, fresh, healthy and local foods of Trattoria style cooking. Eating in a Trattoria in Italy is like eating with an Italian family. The mood can be relaxed or boisterous, but always friendly. It is a home away from home and a gathering place for friends. I have tried to capture the warmth of the trattoria kitchen with its open fire, the aroma of simmering sauces, roasted meats, grilled fish and pizza baking in our custom built wood fired oven. Our newly revised wine list has been enhanced by selections of distinction and value inspired by attending Vinitaly, Slow Food's Terra Madre and visiting vineyards throughout Italy, Sicily and Sardinia. Three Tomatoes has captured some of the spirit that makes wine, food, and conviviality such an important part of trattoria life. Salute and buon appetito! Robert
