This was our first time here and it won't be the last. I started out with the crabcakes, small but delicious. I then had the scallops, fresh and nicely prepared, the vegetables on the side were excellent. For dessert I had the banana cream pie, a large and delicious portion. The service is professional, attentive and unobtrusive. The ambiance is... More

Nice to find a place that is an upgrade from "fast casual". Lovely setting, quiet and good food. Bacon jam on the steak was a hit, as were the empanadas.

Lunch at The Old Courthouse was a component of a recent one-day bus tour. Our 40 guests loved the atmosphere, the cuisine, the service. Our menu offered three entrée choices: Sea Scallops - N Y Strip Steak - Almond encrusted Chicken Breast. All three were outstanding. The restaurant's usual lunch menu features sandwiches and salads, but we opted for "dinner... More

Stopped in early on a Friday night on a whim and so glad we did. Elegance without being snobbish. Wonderful service and excellent food in a beautiful old building. If you get the opportunity spend a couple hours and order a bottle of wine and be sure to stay for dessert.

The Old Courthouse has established itself, over many years of reliably superior cuisine and presentation, as a go-to restaurant in the Newport/Lake Sunapee region for special occasions or just a casual meal in a classy, comfortable (and somewhat quieter) atmosphere. Sunday Brunch is an especially popular regular offering. The menu changes often with creative dishes and thoughtful presentation. The staff... More

Great chef that has been there since the beginning. Great old brick courthouse turned into a restaurant owned by the same friendly people for 19 years. Classy and elegant atmosphere . Fresh fruit and pastries . Quiches, spiral ham Omelet cooked to order , creme Brule french toast to die for. All served with a piano music and great service.... More

Food might be good but the meals seem to sit under a heater or something and they are dry when they arrive at your table. It is too bad because the staff really wants to please.
