Food was good They have a large menu. The restaurant was very clean and bright. The menu is a bit pricey for this type of restaurant.

My husband and I love the Beach Plum! They have what they call Footlong Lobster Rolls where you get 2 Lobster Rolls chock full of lobster with a bag of chips. We share this and we paid $33.99 - That's a Great Deal as we've been to quite a few places for lobster rolls and this place can't be beat!!
The Beach Plum is basically an ice cream stand with an enclosed picnic table style dining area. On a cool nor cold February afternoon the dining area was chilly and noisy with patrons trying to converse over loud mainstream pop music. Given the highway location and very basic dining room, we looked forward to reasonably priced and tasty lunch to... More
The Beach Plum has a lot of items on their menu, but when I looked around the room just about everyone was eating a lobster roll. The lobster rolls are prepared in the classic New England style, lobster meat with a whisper of mayo on a buttered grilled hot dog roll. The smallest and least expensive is the 5 oz.... More
Thanks for writing about your visit to The Beach Plum in Portsmouth. It appears this was likely your first to this location so I just wanted to correct your comment about beer and wine availability. We DO offer both draft beer and a selection of individual serving wines at both the Portsmouth and Epping locations. So please stop by again... More
Stopped in here with a school group after a beach clean up project. The food was tasty, the seating was spacious, and they managed to get out the food quickly without missing any quality! I love coming here.
Counter restaurant with picnic table seating. There were lots of take out orders but we stayed and ate in the restaurant. The restaurant is known for their lobster roll and that's what I ordered. It was good I won't say the best ever but it was as advertised 5 oz of lobster no celery fillers and just the right amount... More
Ordered "Big Catch" haddock sandwich with unsalted french fries. Sides were sauteed spinach and cole slaw. 2 small ice creams for dessert. Called in the takeout order and everything was ready for pickup when I got there. Haddock was fresh and huge portion., tartar sauce was homemade and great, and quality was better than anticipated. Cole slaw was fresh and... More
Stopped by here after to work to take lobster rolls to my Mom's for dinner. I waited a long time for two lobster rolls, over 20 minutes. The lobster tasted off. I grew up on the seacoast and lobster rolls cannot be easier. You might like yours with butter or with mayo or both, but the concept is simple. This... More
Popular place, staffed by very cheerful 18 year olds, but be careful to arrive well ahead of closing time. "Sorry, closed! " these cheerful high school students told me, during a thunderstorm, after I had driven 25 miles in the rain from Exeter, and then ran 40 yards, for one of their famous lobster rolls. "But it isn't closing time,... More
