Good beer and nice people working there. I enjoy beer but some breweries are not so good. This place had great variety of fresh brews. Recommended.

First visit to this Craft beer spot. Huge selection of beer and the barkeeps are more than happy to let you sample, prior to ordering. Friendly staff (minus 1) but hey, that’s pretty good these days. Clean, nice crowd and an enjoyable place to spend...More

The corned beef rueben was amazing and the blonde ale is fab. The environment is buzzing with locals and tourists. Great spot for a casual family lunch.

Well, in my opinion it’s hard to find a good brewery that has good food too. But, the Portsmouth Brewery just so happens to have both. Not only do they have a nice selection of beers that they brewed on-site, the food is made from...More

We went for lunch and some beer. The bar/dining area was bustling but we were seated in a back area that had no charm and no other patrons. The burger was ok; beer was ok; the lamb gyro was appalling. I have never eaten pressed...More

Knowing its a brewery I figured it would be loud but the acoustics in there make it very loud. The waiter was excellent and my burger was great. I'd try coming here again in a group.

We like this place, good food and beer. But very busy and noisy at the weekend. Go in the week if you want a quieter vibe.More

Thanks for your visit and your review. You're right - when we're busy things can get kinda noisy, but for better or for worse, it's been part of our personality for the better part of 28 years! We look forward to serving you again soon....More

Delicious food right in the heart of Portsmouth. They have fresh seafood and daily specials. Our college aged players really enjoyed it. Try the mussels...very good. Stay away from the chowder, very bland.

Excellent service.... Great selection of beer and the chili and wings were delicious. In the dining room you have a view of the brewers at work which was cool to see

Snow was pouring down so we took shelter for beer and some great seafood at the Brewery. Great food and nice place to hang out and have a few beers.More

Thanks for your visit and your kind review. At the Brewery, we've always taken pride in staying open when many other places close due to inclement weather. The way we figure it, even though fewer customers stop in during a snow storm, the ones who...More

Good afternoon (sorry for the tardy reply). Yes, we do have a small patio, but, alas, we can not allow pets there as it is only accessible from inside the building.

Welcome to New Hampshire's original brewpub, a landmark in downtown Portsmouth's thriving restaurant scene since 1991. Our wide-ranging menu is complemented by a selection of our own unique, hand-crafted beers, as well as selected guest beers, including hard-to-find selections from our sister company, Smuttynose Brewing Co. Come for the beer. Stay for the food. We serve all types!
