Stopped here for a late lunch and some beer. We shared a clam chowder (which was OK, not great) and a burger (which was very good and cooked perfectly). Had some Portsmouth beer as well. Worth checking out.

In Portsmouth on business. Had a party of 15. A great table in the back that sat us comfortably and where the noise was a little less, allowing us to talk. Food was great. Beer very good. Service was ok. (Only one server for a...More

This is one of our favorite restaurants even though we live nowhere near it. If we are traveling to Maine or New Hampshire, my husband and I will usually try and time it so that we are driving through portsmouth at lunch or dinner time....More

Located in Central Portsmouth, this is a moderm place to eat and drink. It is a bit of a local institution. There is a great selection of craft beers.

This place is extremely inviting with great beer and food. During my short visit to Portsmouth I ended up going there twice. The first time I went I had a flight and a meal. The second visit I had a few pints and great conversation...More

Muscles with curry were amazing! Very unique menu items along with the standard fare. Beers were also good. Try the flight of six brews if you are unsure what you like. Smuttynose brown was delicious.

We are never disappointed at the Brewery. Beers are tried and true and the new ones are always thoughtful and inventive. Usually visit for a lunch date. Highly reccomend the Eggplant sandwich. Yummy!!

Stopped in the other day and had to write another review (last was 3 years ago). The place is still doing very well, lots of good home brews, very good food, friendly service, always a pleasure. Just hoping they'll finally get an espresso machine.

Do you get to try small samples of the craft beers before buying a big glass? In case you don't like that flavor, samples would be great. Also, how much does the beer cost?

Welcome to New Hampshire's original brewpub, a landmark in downtown Portsmouth's thriving restaurant scene since 1991. Our wide-ranging menu is complemented by a selection of our own unique, hand-crafted beers, as well as selected guest beers, including hard-to-find selections from our sister company, Smuttynose Brewing Co. Come for the beer. Stay for the food. We serve all types!
