Three of us had dinner here this week and our first visit ever. Christian was our server and had a terrific attitude. The menu is diverse, food was delicious and we will definitely be back! Try the pulled pork sandwich and the barbecued chicken. Delish!!!

My husband and I ate a late lunch on Friday. We shared an order of Alehouse mussels. They were the best mussels we’ve ever had. The tomatoes, garlic, butter and oregano in the broth was so flavorful, and the bread that accompanied the huge bowl...More

My husband and I arrived in Portsmouth around 2:30 and came here for lunch after checking into our hotel around the corner. The brewery/restaurant was hopping. We had to wait about 10 min for a table. We ordered a beer at the bar. I got...More

We were looking for an event location and RH seemed perfect. We went as a couple and had chicken nachos to share. Our waitress was great, however, no matter how many times she said "those nachos are great" we just smiled. They were awful. There...More

Good afternoon: Normally, when we receive a less-than-favorable review, we take our lumps and humbly learn what we can from it. Yes, we do occasionally fall flat on our face (you'll find some excellent examples among the more than 1,000 reviews below!), but I am...More

My wife and I stopped by the PB for a quick beer and lunch last summer. The beer selection was quite impressive (as you would expect from a brewpub). My wife, as she would describe it, ordered one of her "girly" beers (which usually translates...More

Nice clam chowder, very good beer and pleasant service. The profiteroles dessert was also yummi. Good experience overall.

We didn’t eat here, but loved grabbing a drink before dinner. Very cool atmosphere- you can see how they brew the beer. Even the bathrooms are brewery themed.

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and had about about a 20 minute wait. They use a text alert system so there's plenty of shops to keep you occupied while you wait for your table. The place is quite big with a downstairs, and...More

I always appreciate a brewery that can make good beer and provide good food and the Portsmouth Brewery achieves this. They are always changing their daily specials menu and have a solid menu with vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan options. As for beer, they also have...More

Good morning, Thanks for your question. The answer is a qualified yes. Like many other older buildings in downtown Portsmouth, ours was not built to meet ADA requirements. Our front entrance is two steps up from the... More

Welcome to New Hampshire's original brewpub, a landmark in downtown Portsmouth's thriving restaurant scene since 1991. Our wide-ranging menu is complemented by a selection of our own unique, hand-crafted beers, as well as selected guest beers, including hard-to-find selections from our sister company, Smuttynose Brewing Co. Come for the beer. Stay for the food. We serve all types!
