We missed Truants during our first drive thru Woodstock ~ if you blink you may miss it. They have parking out back which is nice. Food was pretty good - burger and fish tacos...pretty standard. They have s full bar so I was able to try one of their cosmos which was okay.

My husband and I went here after visiting the Ice Castles. It came up on Waze and since we were looking for a pub-style establishment for something a little different. The food was excellent. I recommend the meatloaf. My husband had the fried chicken dinner. Great atmosphere, wonderful staff. Our waitress, Mercedes, was attentive but not overbearing. You'll have to... More

We stopped by Truant's Taverne around 5 PM on a January- Saturday evening for dinner, before going to see the "Ice Castles." We were seated right away. The service was a bit slow, but we had the time. The bench seating was rustic, not the most comfortable. The food was OK and the price was reasonable.

Thank you to others who rated this. Think web site says they have been open for 38 years - so yes, they are doing something right. They are in the lower floor of a building and it has a great warm, wood, pub vibe. Our waitress Ceana (prounouced like Siena) was very nice. Had great onion soup and my beef... More

had we known you had to walk down stairs we would have parked in the lot instead of on the street. be careful of the uneven floor when going to the restroom. wife ordered the French onion soup. broth looked very rich and lots of onion, a shame that the bread absorbed most of the broth. she also had the... Great, rustic environment. Great service year after year, food has always been very good, never an issue. A must stop by if you are in the area.

We've been coming to Truant's for about 25 years ... and its still as good now as it was then. Drinks are reasonably prices ... soups are hearty ... salads are plentiful and sandwiches are delicious! We especially love their fries!! A great, casual atmosphere perfect for families or anyone.

My family and I went this past weekend, although it was quite busy, the food did not disappoint. I had the Turkey Valedictorian with sweet potato fries and it was perfect after a long day of skiing. I would recommend to anyone who wants a casual meal in a pub environment.

Great salads, burgers and specials. Good selection of draft beer. Recommend place for after a day in the slopes or mountains.
