As a former baker, I can attest to the fact that this bakery is the real deal. The pastries are made from scratch. Donuts, croissant, crumb cake...all made in house...nothing frozen. Would rate this a 6 out of 5 star if possible. Note: some of the cookies are brought in from a distributor...so don’t bother with those. Otherwise, the wait is SO worth it!

As good as I remember. It has been a few years since we were here as we skipped the shore on our last few visits back home. The bakery was hopping when we went on a Monday afternoon. They have increased their variety of goods, especially in their cakes. Still, though the best offering is the crumb cake square. It has become pricier topping out at $18; when we first started getting it in the mid 80's, I think it was like $3. Yikes! They also make the crumb buns with various jams. The staff was helpful and friendly so much so that I didn't care that I paid $18 for a 10 inch square.

We had both the powdered sugar and the glazed crumb cake. I prefer the powdered sugar topped crumb cake. I sprinkle my own cinnamon on the top and have it for breakfast for days afterward. The glazed crumb cake is also very good but it is just too sweet for me.

I have been going to Mullers for years and new the original baker who owned the Bakery in the 1950's and it was his recipes that set this bakery apart from the rest. The last two owners have messed with the recipes and use inferior ingredients . My last crumb cake was just awful and tasted processed and staledue to the lack of fresh ingredients. The Crumb Cake is not the :"best" in Jersey, I have found far better versions of this classic crumb cake. Any one that is in the 60 year old group knows what I mean, nothing like the original and this is not it.

Since we were in the neighborhood, we had a pickup order of different donuts 🍩, Apple strudel, Italian bread and an assortment of other pastries 🥮. We sampled the Boston cream and pumpkin donuts so far. Both were fresh and tasty. The apple strudel was divine with plenty of apple 🍎 inside a delicate pastry crust.

This is hands down the best bakery in New Jersey. We heard about this place so we made it a destination point. Boy, it was well worth the trip. It reminded us of a defunct bakery in Jamesburg.
The bakery has a huge following. While waiting in line, we scanned the glass cases for the delights. Oh so many choices and the price was reasonable. We ordered several fruit danish, different types of donuts, lemon bar cake, and much more shown in the pictures. This is definitely a gem but you must get there early for their selection of pastries.

I passed Muller’s Bakery the last time I was in Bay Head and made an effort to stop in this time. I just wanted a light snack and had a vanilla iced doughnut. It was delicious!
Just a simple fried doughnut that tasted like a cruller with a thick layer of white icing on top. It was so perfect. They also have a nice selection of other baked goods that looked good.
The ladies that work there could not have been nicer and made all sorts of suggestions for future visits.

I stopped at Mueller’s Bakery when touring Bay Head and needed a snack. I had seen the Apricot Sour cream Pocket the last time I visited so I had to try that. Since I had to use a credit card, I also ordered an Apple Turnover. Both were delicious.
The Apricot pocket was delicious. It was sweet and flaky and filled with apricot jam in a moist sugary dough. Each bite added to the sweetness. The Apple turnover was a delight filled with sweet cinnamon apples and topped with sugar crystals. It was wonderful.
Everything I have tried here was excellent. They do need to watch their rules on credit card payments though. Once you accept credit cards, you can’t insist on a minimum amount spent.

Quality of products has significantly declined. Way overpriced now due to how they have “shrinkflated” (cheapened) items. Especially the crumb cake they are known for. Used to be 3” or more thick, just got one that was barely half that for $18.25. So disappointed.

Only game in town.. that’s the only reason why people think it’s so good. But it’s Not.. not the crumb cake at least. The cake had the right crumb to cake ratio. But had no flavor. Zero flavor. Entenmannas has more flavor and cheaper. It has long lines cause it’s the only bakery in town. The crab cookie was ok..I won’t be back. Not worth the calories..

The cheese babka was so fresh and delicious along with the blueberry danish and melt away cheese danish. The blueberry and chocolate pastry was chewy and so tasty. No question a great bakery 🧁.

Mueller’s Bakery gave us the wedding cake of our dreams. For our beach-themed cake, we wanted something unique, with a sense of humor, but still a bit romantic. So we sent them reference photos of my and my husband’s real-life bathing suits, and on top of our delicious two-tier cake, our toppers were two beach chairs and our little bathing suits made of fondant. (The joke was that our topper bride and groom ditched the cake and ran off skinny dipping.) They even put little footprints in the cookie-crumble sand on the top of the cake. We couldn’t have been more thrilled with how it turned out, and how it tasted!
