We stopped in on our way back to Barnegat after shopping at IKEA. We were alone at 2PM. Good selection of beers. We chose BBQ because we don't have a good one near us at home. Will definitely go again after IKEA.

Hadn't visited this restaurant in about 20 years, likely will not go back. Was enticed by a coupon. You'd think a restaurant specializing in BBQ would have good ribs. Mine were fatty, tough and generally grizzly. The 5 other people in my group ordered various things including the combo plates and they said the food was not worth the price.... More

Third time here and the BBQ has always been really good. Tasty with a slightly heavy smoke which we really like and there portions are a good size. Clean, bright and the music selection is wicked good. Since I have been smoking meats for 20+ years I am a bit picky but they have always come through with a good... More

I really was craving ribs and the half slab was good but not warm and I had to.wait one hour for my platter while my dinner partners were close to finishing their half price appetizers. We sat in the bar area at a table for three or four. Finally I went into the kitchen where the hostess handed me my... More

I've seen this BBQ joint all over the country and have yet to try it anywhere so the family decided to try this one. I will say if this is the standard RHB holds their locations to, then I will not be visiting any other again. It was the worst BBQ I have had ever. Only thing that was decent... More

Had never been there and went with friends to see our friend who was playing in the band. Started off with a waiter who was about 12 years old. Couldn't get one drink right after we waited 20 minutes to get it. We asked for water for the entire time we were there which was four hours and never got... More

Good place to eat. But the employees should stick to wearing uniforms that match. During the fall & winter months they have music

Food was average. We had pulled pork sandwiches with sides, and all you can eat ribs. Nothing special. Service was slow but fine. Prices were reasonable.

We received a coupon in the mail so we decided to give it a try. No one in the place, however it was after lunch and before dinner around 3pm. We ordered ribs of course, that is their specialty. They were good but not anything special. One thing I did like was when you ordered a drink it came in a... More

Red Hot and Blue is a full-service, casual-themed restaurant chain and caterer featuring delicious award-winning ribs, Memphis-style barbeque, smoked wings, and Southern sides and desserts. The atmosphere is steeped in legendary and contemporary blues music and delivers a large dose of Southern hospitality in a fun and entertaining dining environment. History: The first Red Hot and Blue restaurant opened in Arlington, Virginia in 1988, started by Lee Atwater, Don Sundquist and friends. Don Sundquist was from Memphis and served in the House of Representatives and as governor of Tennessee. The late Lee Atwater was an amateur blues musician and political figure that managed George H.W. Bush's successful race for the presidency. These men were friends who longed for authentic Memphis-style barbeque and great blues music. Unable to find that combination anywhere in the Washington, DC area they decided the only way to get it done was to open a restaurant of their own. The Memphis-style barbeque chain celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2013 by partnering with a charitable organization at 24 different restaurant locations. The yearlong celebration culminated in the presentation of thousands of dollars in donations to local charities. The Name: The name, "Red Hot and Blue" is taken from the title of D.J. Dewey Phillip's radio show that that aired on WHBQ-AM in Memphis, Tennessee in the 1950s. This radio show launched the careers of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash and broadened the audience for artists such as BB King, Muddy Waters, Robert Cray and Rufus Thomas. Red Hot & Blue Dine-In, Take-Out and Catering. Hickory-smoked Memphis-style BBQ, Ribs, Wings, Beef Brisket, Smoked Chicken, Seafood, Full-service Bar, in a Family-friendly atmosphere with a heapin' helpin' of Southern Hospitality!
