Nice atmosphere and a good experience. Food a little too bland for me, though my partner was impressed.

This place is just delicious with wonderful vegetarian options. Scoop up the lentils on the flavorful bread -- yum. The mushrooms are also amazing. Recommend the combination platters but all is great. If you haven't had Ethiopian food give it a try.

We ordered the vegetarian sample and enjoyed every bit of it. Great service and ambience as well. We will come back!

Starting from the location, it is situated in downtown Montclair surrounded by very nice restaurants and bars. I was a little sceptical about trying Ethiopian cuisine but I had heard lots of good reviews about this place. Being a vegetarian they have a hell lot of options in vegetarian and it was very delicious. We ordered the platter for one... More

This was a cultural experience and one that you don't want to miss. Absolutely fabulous food. We had no idea what anything was so we just asked the waitress to pick for us. We went for a fully vegetarian and vegan evening and got a mix of different dishes. It was all served in a giant pancake looking Ethiopian bread.... More

I completely loved the food and eating here! I took my SO with me here for Valentines Day. My SO is open to trying new things (I always am out for adventure). However, mySO did not realize that we would be dining with our hands instead of silverware (which I found to be a wonderful way of experiencing and divulging... More

This place has been a staple in Mo tckaur for quite some time. The food & service is always consistent which is my book = stellar. As stated in my title, it's a great change of pace from every other restaurant.

First time here on a very busy Saturday night. Waitstaff was not very helpful in regards to navigating this unique menu - seemed more interested in quickly getting your order into the kitchen. We did a sampler of a variety of dishes and after a while everything started to taste the same - the flavor and the texture. Not a... More

I've gotten sampler dishes the three times I've been here and it was never a disappointment. The food is not as spicy as I like it to be, but otherwise it's great. Definitely try it.

I recently tried Ethiopian food for the first time and enjoyed it. So I decided to give this place a try. Overall, I was pleased with my experience. Décor was nice, service was friendly. Food was pretty good. I would definitely come back.

Mesob Ethiopian Restaurant of Montclair, NJ is a favorite for both vegans & meat lovers with its authentic Ethiopian food. All of our foods are prepared with imported Ethiopian spices prepared daily. The friendly staff and warm decor makes Mesob the perfect place to relax with family and friends. Our Injera, a delicious sourdough Ethiopian flat bread that you wrap your food with, makes Mesob a favorite with kids, where it’s a treat to “eat with your hands.” (but we also have silverware, if you prefer!)
