Food is consistent and the service is helpful and friendly. Best visits are sitting outside when the weather is warm - it's a perfect way to spend an afternoon.

We live really close to the Gladstone Tavern, and come here every couple of months. I love the concept of farm to table, and their menu switches with some frequency. I also love how they take advantage of what is in season with their pumpkin, apple, and mardi gras menus. Last night we went (it happened to be Mardi Gras)... More

Every time I have gone the food was great! Lunch or Dinner - never had a bad meal. When they have it the cheese steak sandwich is delicious. This is a great family place to eat.

Have eaten there three times - the first was a disaster, then second and third times were uneventful, but also not memorable. The setup is decent - part pub/tavern, part restaurant. The first visit was for lunch. The waiter was informed of a food allergy to fish and nuts. A lamb dish was ordered confirmed to have neither ingredient, which... More

Tom Carlin is always on his game, which starts with the season. Cauliflower and celery soup with lobster (a lot of it) was a great starter, as was the perfect calamari and the signature crab tots (a must have!). Brisket was not quite as flavorful (even with horseradish cream) as I expected, but boy were the mashed potatoes wonderful. I'll... More

Special holiday drink menu was fantastic! The 2017 and the Feliz Navidad were exceptional...props to the bartenders! From the bread through our apps of Crab Tots and Guacamole to our meals ( I had the Kimchi Shrimp special and my husband had the Grouper) everything was dynamite! The only thing I would say I had a tiny issue with was... More

We went to the Gladstone Tavern recently, had a very nice meal and enjoyed the ambiance. I would describe the setting as a cross between an upscale tavern and country inn restaurant, which reminded me of some places in New England. The staff was helpful and provided service without being interrupting. They were dressed a bit casually, but we had... More

lots of innovative starters and main courses but reading the menu was better than the food quality, English style preparation and the take it or leave it service. We had a good time in the loud happy festive atmosphere but the urban prices are to high for this food and setting.

Gladstone Tavern is the third version of a popular restaurant in Gladstone, near the end terminal of the Lackawanna RR Gladstone Branch. For years it was called the Brass Penny, with a limited wine list and a rather limited menu. Then it was taken over by Harvard-educated Kim Chatfield, a NY restaurateur who modestly called it Chatfield's. Kim improved the... More

Food and cocktails delicious! Only downfall was that it was extremely noisy! Our table was near the front of the restaurant. Maybe would have been better if we were in another spot! Service was great! Donut dessert was ok. Cauliflower salad and salmon were perfect! Will revisit again!
