Smitty's (The Clam Bar) never lets us down. The food is always fresh and consistently prepared. The service along with the atmosphere is excellent. Be prepared to wait as this is a popular destination. Clams on the half shell are a tradition and favorite. BYOB/W.

Went with my wife and two other couples. We were told we had a hour and a half wait. So we drank beers we had brought on a bench, overlooking the water till our table was ready. By the time, we got seated we were drunk and hungry. Which made for a great dinner.

Nice location on the water. Prices are reasonable. In the summer there is always a waiting line. Very popular spot. But... To my wife and I this place is very mediocre for seafood. Clams are fresh but the entrees seem to be average at best. That said this is a very popular place so maybe you will see it differently

Smitty's Clam Bar has been on the Jersey Shore forever and eating there is a summer highlight, and a place you can only find in NJ. You will wait for a table, it is cash only, there is no liquor license, and it will be worth it. Fish is fresh off the boat that day, both clam chowders are excellent,... More

The place is always packed and the food is always good. If you like quirky, off the beaten path. This is it! Get in line a grab a seat. The clam bar is first come first served.

After moving from NJ to N.H. 6 years ago I wanted to visit and have dinner here on Sept. 16. Long wait even at 5:00 which was expected, but the food was a real disappointment . We had four women in our group and all had the chowder which was good. Myself and another woman had the sea bass, which... More

My family comes here every year and this year was a disappointed. We waited to be seated, which was normal but our food came in like 7 minutes, way to fast !. I ordered the baked flounder and it was mushy and very similar to what I purchase in the grocery store in a bag. My husbands meal was similar.... More

Great place to get inexpensive seafood. A locals favorite. Mostly fried foods, but they have been switching it up and offering healthier choices. A BYOB that is very causal and kid friendly. Waits can exceed over an hour during the weekends. Great lunch spot too. Love their chowders and raw clams. Friendly staff and ample parking in the area.
