Our best lunch thus far during a ten day trip. The food is certainly Michelin quality and I recognize the training of the restaurants head chef ( ex La Gavroche london ) given the soufflé magnificence that features throughout the menu. The gruyere cheese soufflé...More

First time visit to Le Lude as residents of Franschhoek and one of those experience of “if it could go right, it did go right!” We had a lovely table outside in the shade. Everything immaculate and unhurried. Our waiter, Last was simply superb; knowledgeable,...More

We were staying in Franschhoek for a few days and this place was recommended. South African style and very beautiful. Very hot, perhaps we should have sat inside, but still well worth the visit.

Had a great lunch here and fell in love with the decor and food. We tasted some bubblies first and then decided to grab a bite. The manager didn't make a fuss about it even though they were busy. When the food came, we were...More

What a setting and what a service. If you visit no other restaurant in town, this is the one. First class service, beautiful position and a short but interesting menu. We both started with the cheese soufflé for which the 20 min wait was so...More

Visited Orangerie for lunch today and just had to write a report highlighting how wonderful our lunch, service and experience was at this first class restaurant. Nicolene, the Chef, provided us with superb cuisine. The calamari and legendary cheese soufflé starters were outstanding. Equally impressive...More

This place continues to impress, with imaginative dishes, which don’t stray over the top. Portions are typically generous, so watch out and the wine list is reasonable too, though their own MCC sparklers still don’t match the French version. This was the first time we...More

Le Lude is a family winery situated on the edge of Franschhoek in the Western Cape region of South Africa. Specialising in bottle fermented sparkling wines - Cap Classique. The French Huguenots planted vines and made wine in the Franschhoek valley. Enjoy French cuisine at our Orangerie restaurant or sit back and head to a cafe in Paris whilst tasting our MCC and canapes.
