Having had lunch on the deck that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and a quaint Fishing Harbour with glorious mountain views many, many times, i was dismayed to hear that almost everything had gone downhill. This past Sunday, Daleen and i decided to see for ourselves why people posted so many negative reviews about this Iconic eatery. Chapmans Peak Restaurant has reinvented... More

We usually have some of the best food enjoying the variety offered. This year, however, we had a bit of a disappointment with the menu losing its famous steak skewers and everyone ordering from the fish menu was disappointed with their food. Would still recommend for its amazing sunset view over Hout Bay and it's superb staff. New personal recommendation... More

Probably the best calamari I have every eaten. Booking essential, sit on the deck, good views and nice and cool.

Calamari was just fabulous. Definitely a must but one should not go here if you're in a rush, service was a bit delayed. Overall nice experience with a great view.

This Hout Bay institution is the common room of the village, always buzzing, everybody having a great time - just like we did. Alas, I have to add that the food is nothing better than average (oily calamari, bending fries), and the service (yet friendly) is nothing faster than slowish. On such a top spot, things could and should be... More

Really lucky to have got a great table with stunning views over the water in the distance for Sunday lunch. Excellent, reasonably priced, fish made this place a winner.

My family attended my Gran's 91st Birthday at Chapman's Peak Restaurant for lunch, there was about 15 of us. The staff were all so accommodating and helpful. Made a fire as it was in winter to keep us all warm. They were able to handle a large table with ease. The food was great with a different winter special menu... More

Great location on a terrace juste after Chapman peak Very nice service, lots of smile Portions are very big The fish was ok, fresh but a bit dry for me The calamari though were awesome. Tasty, very fresh, tender and NOT chewy A great halt for lunch

The restaurant is a local institution, renowned worldwide for the best Calamari in Cape Town, with a popular sun-drenched terrace overlooking the bay and mountains. Calamari at the Chapmans Peak was voted as "one of top 20 things to do in Cape Town".It’s the ideal location for those lingering sunsets and balmy evenings. A sun-drenched verandah boasting spectacular views of the bay offers an alternative eating venue for those wishing to dine Al fresco. And in those winter months, it’s one of few places in the Cape with fireplaces (dating back 100yrs)
