We chose this special location for our 25th wedding anniversary. The views to start with are South Africa at it's best. The restaurant décor and fit out is stylish and sophisticated and positively magnificent. The fireplace makes a huge double volume area feel cosy. The wall hangings soften the windows and balustrading from the upstairs. It's all beautiful. Our waiter... More

We were a party of 18, attending a Silver Seas cruising presentation, so the Waterkloof kitchen had offered a very limited set menu (one starter, a choice of two mains, and one dessert). Our table discussed the concept of 'fine' dining before we were served, and all of us agreed that most fine dining leaves something to be desired -... More

As a Tour Operator, we regularly return to SA to visit properties and restaurants so as to be able to advise our clients accordingly. This restaurant is superb and how anyone can rate it less than 5 star is ridiculous beyond belief. Brilliant!

What a fantastic experience it was! The dishes are truly beautiful, taste and smell wonderful. The complimentary fresh bread rolls with varieties of infused butter was a yummy. The service was impeccable, the waiter knew each dish by heart and could elaborate on each dish. With their stunning view and great tasting wine to match, this was truly a great... More

We were really looking forward to visiting Waterkloof, being quite 'into' our food and having heard so much good press about it. Unfortunately our experience didn't match this. The building itself is stunning, as is the location. The food had some interesting combinations which we'd hoped for, but the portions were unnecessarily small, and the service was friendly but felt... More

OK....the title may be a bit over the top but when wine guru Michael Fridjhon describes it thus in Business Day who am I to disagree? I have NEVER had a disappointing meal at Waterkloof and I have lost count of the number of times I have hosted large dinners and smaller lunches there. It is a divine experience from... More

The restaurant is wonderful, a beautiful symphony of architectural splendor and culinary excellence. However, upon our arrival we were met by the hostess who thought it her duty to show us the menu and prices. You see my husband and our two kids were dressed casually as we were on our way to do some sight seeing. The hostess obviously... More

Visited here as a family of three generations and all enjoyed the experience. My daughter is vegetarian and the chef created a wonderful dish for her. Our waiter was superb but I missed his name but he suggested my dishes which were scallop followed by kingklip paired with the suggested wine awesome. Great experience and a stunning taste experience thank... More

Highs One of the best views in the Cape by far. The food and service was excellent. I really liked that they had both a full tasting menu option and a 2-3 course option. Lows We wanted to have coffee on the balcony to take in the scenery but it got really really windy and had to make a quick... More
