Two years ago, I had a disappointing experience at Lambert's restaurant at the St. James. This year, a friend of mine called ahead and queried the chef about the steaks, regarding the thickness and method of preparation. When we arrived at our table, the hostess...More

We were looking for dinner and tried to do something other than hotel food where we were staying. We went out to look around town for a restaurant and our hotel was the only place left open. We went back to the hotel restaurant and...More

We always make a point to go Lamberts at the St James. Food never disappoints but you need to understand it will take a bit to get it on the table. Worth the wait. Bit disappointing the bison burger was not on the menu but...More

We stop here several times a year. Never been disappointed. Good food. Good staff. Great atmosphere! This will never be a 5 star dining or hotel experience. What it is, is a good honest place, with good people in there as staff or patrons.

We met here for dinner, and drinks while visiting nearby Philmont Scout Ranch, and Philmont Training Center. The food was excellent, and service was great. After dinner, we hung out and had drinks, and appetizers.

Two hours north of Santa Fe, NM, past wide and dry barb-wired ranches and vegetation too sparse for much livestock, we stopped in the center of the languid village of Cimarron and in front of a handsome and well preserved two-story Victorian building. It's a...More

Like a step back in time. You can imagine all the famous Colfax county cowboys sitting at the next table. The hotel is restored to the 1860's. Food is good and the drinks are cold. Nice patio courtyard. Worth the drive to get to Cimarron

We stopped here for a leisurely lunch while following the Santa Fe Trail through northeastern New Mexico. The hotel is fascinating and full of Wild West history. Check out the bullet holes in the bar, the result of several gunfights. We ate outside in the...More

It really depends on which room you opt to stay in. Some are very authentic, very old style in the main hotel. There are also some newer rooms that are more modern. I would suggest calling out there and asking the desk... More
