Great service and great food! Only issue I have is that my surf n turf dish cost over $70! The menu said market Value but I have never paid $37.00 a lb for any steak until tonight....1 lb of Crab legs was $39.00 which I can handle, thought that was a little high but they were the best I ever... We enjoyed our meal here very much. The food was exceptional and the service was great. I had the Surf and Turf and my steak was so tender and done to perfection. The lobster tail was also delicious. Definitely will come back if we are ever in here again.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel staff and they also gave us a coupon for complimentary desert so we gave it a try. We were met at the the door and seated immediately and a very nice waiter took the time to explain the larger than expected wine menu. After ordering wine and while deciding on our meal, the... We saw the reviews and were excited to try this place. We were not disappointed. We were greeted with bread and what I think was honey butter. It was good either way. The steak was great and cooked perfectly as well as the sides. I would go back if in Gallup again.

This is the best steak in town. It is a little pricey, comparable to city prices. They also serve some seafood (lobster/fish and can't remember if they had shrimp). I've eaten here twice. First time, I had steak and the second time I ordered lobster. Both dishes were yummy. After you order, you get a small loaf of bread served... More

After traveling all day we wanted a good dinner and asked at the hotel where we should go. They recommended Badlands Grill. You don't have to dress up which was nice. After being seated our waiter Andy asked what we would like and told us his recommendations. Rib Eye and the Pork Chop, I had the Rib Eye and have... More

It's been nearly 3 years and again we are delighted with Badlands, as we were in 2011 and 2014. The steaks are still delicious and perfectly cooked. I had the large NY strip and my husband had the big T-Bone porterhouse. Good salad, too. Very nice wine list, and our $30 Cab was just right. We had 2 or 3... More

I have to thank my fellow Trippers for this one. We were in Gallup on our anniversary and I wanted to be sure our evening meal would be a winner, so I looked at the reviews and we ended up here. First off, this place is an interesting combination of pricey and rustic. Décor includes old saddles and a number... More

We had dinner here while stopping in the area on our way to AZ. I had a filet for dinner, it was absolutely PERFECT! I can be very picky when it comes to steaks, and I have not one complaint! The decor was fitting, rustic, etc. The entire place was clean and all staff were polite and courteous. Highly recommend... More

Description
Not a chain, Badlands offers true New Mexico hospitality and taste- for those of you traveling through, it's the place where locals go when they want a meal that's truly a cut above the rest, and relax with friends and neighbors. There's no dress code...no pretentiousness...just beef that's been wet-aged for 21 days, cut in-house and cooked to order...combine these with an ice cold beer or excellent bottle of wine... and you've got the stuff a cattleman's dreams are made of!
