Upon recommendation of the Hampton Inn West, we decided to try Badlands Grill. We were given a coupon for a choice of dessert or potato skins appetizer with an entree. The potato skins were served after our salads, but that was fine. We each ordered...More

We stayed the night in Gallup while moving cross country (again!). We had such an incredible dinner. Their aged steaks are memorable - and that is saying a lot being from the Midwest with my husband's grandfather raising champion Angus beef. Our server Rachel was...More

Although the ambiance is one of the best in Gallup, the food itself is not up to the price. The portions are small and the chicken that I ordered was overcooked and dry. There are many other great places to eat in Gallup that are...More

The menu offers a wide variety of entrees, but we found that sticking with the steaks was best. The steaks are excellent, but note that only the NY steak is dry-aged. We shared the "surf and turf," a grilled 12 ounce lobster and 6 ounce...More

We found this restaurant on trip advisor as we were traveling. We had a great experience. I have some food allergies and they accommodated me with making a fresh Burger Patty. My husband had the sirloin and daughter had the chicken strips. All very good.

A delightful family evening meal. The chicken wings are delicious as were the fall off the bone rack of ribs. We also would highlight the steak sandwich. A little in the pricy side but probably worth it. Good atmosphere. Nice polite staff. Ample parking. Easy...More

The filet was good. Not great. About what you’d expect from Lone Star or any other steak chain, but you’ll pay about twice the price. I had the veggie medley instead of potato. It was quite good. I was especially disappointed that management chose to...More

We were on a motorhome trip through the area and decided to give this place a try. Absolutely fantastic and highly recommended. We had great service, beautiful Ambience inside, although they only had beer and wine, the wine was excellent at a reasonable price. The...More

The food was good but the drinks were not. The wine based margaritas and vodka lemonade left a lot to be desired.

We definitely recommend this restaurant. We had dinner there during a road trip. Authentic place with very decent quality food (we enjoyed our steaks). Amanda, our waitress, was very friendly and attentive.

Description
Not a chain, Badlands offers true New Mexico hospitality and taste- for those of you traveling through, it's the place where locals go when they want a meal that's truly a cut above the rest, and relax with friends and neighbors. There's no dress code...no pretentiousness...just beef that's been wet-aged for 21 days, cut in-house and cooked to order...combine these with an ice cold beer or excellent bottle of wine... and you've got the stuff a cattleman's dreams are made of!
