A locals place, and the food was really good NM Mexican food. Combinations #2 and #3 are really good. Good margaritas! I would really recommend the green chili over the red chili. Pretty spicy, but good spicy.

On our way from Phoenix to Albuquerque, NM we were forced off Interstate 40 due to a shooting. We saw Don Diego's on Route 66 and decided to stop. I had a beef enchilada with green chili and my husband had a beef chimichunga with green chili. He said it was the best chili that he had in years. The... More

I was surprised by the vendors selling trinkets at your table. Haven't seen that in the United States before. I was also surprised by the friendly service in that we were one of the few Anglo's in the place. The food was very good. I had a beef burrito covered in cheese and with Salsa Verde on the side. Maybe... More

Our group of four went to this restaurant on a Saturday night. We were promptly seated; our drink and food order was taken right away. The server checked on us periodically through the evening. Everyone enjoyed their food and the margs.

I like Don Diegos because its red chile is great. It doesn't matter what you have it on it is awesome. I particularly like their Carne Adovada Plate.....it is perfection and healing to the soul on a cold February day. I like tearing off a piece of flour tortilla and scooping some carne adovada chunks con frijol and devouring it... More

An ok place to stop and get a quick meal. Their red and green chili was good, but their food is pretty average. Service was ok. You can shop for jewelry while you eat as the native american folks come by with their wares. But they only let a few at a time so you are not overwhelmed, one of... More

Busy restaurant that was obviously a local favorite. Food was very good but non-locals beware - the mild red chili sauce almost had us crying. Suggest ordered the red or green sauce on the side unless you really like spicy food. Good margaritas that are reasonably priced.
