Ok food, but after driving all day we really wanted a beer with our dinner and they are an alcohol free restaurant.

We had lunch there and it's absolutely wonderful. I had the chicken tacos and it was more than I could eat. The service was good and the food was likewise good. The sopapilla was good.

Great service and good beans. But both the red and green chili were bland. My sopapilla was mushy and chicharrones were overcooked. Atmosphere is nice though.

We were traveling through on our way to Colorado. We were hungry for Mexican food; looked up restaurants in Las Vegas, NM and found 3 Mexican restaurants....2 were closed so we chose the only one open, Kocina de Rafael. It was off of the main route through town with very little lighting in the parking lot, so we almost missed... More

This was everything I was looking for in a quick trip to New Mexico. The food was great! I'll go back if ever I'm in Las Vegas, NM for a meal.

This is a small Mexican restaurant and the food is utterly fantastic!!! The people working here are extremely courteous and accommodating and you get tons of food for your money. I wish they would have this restaurant in Denver where I'm from. We've come here two times on our vacation and we will be coming here for now on when... More

Thought we couldn't go wrong with a 4* rating. Boy, were we wrong. My Ground Round Ranchero was swimming in green chilies. The ground round was a frozen patty with NO taste. Canned diced tomatoes and grated cheese. It was a good idea just not well executed. The fries were good. Burnt cheese pork tacos were better...but not much better.... More

On vacation near Las Vegas so tried this place. I really enjoyed it. The green and red chile sauces were great with a little salt added. Sauces made this place stand out from the typical Mexican food I'm used to in Texas. The waitress and other reviewers here on ta said the green chile sauce was very spicy but I... More

Tucked away in a little corner of a great town, Kocina de Rafeal is a fine example of norteno food, a spicy variety of the ever popular Mexican food. Just look at the number of locals who eat here. You know it has to be good.
