The reviews were good, and the restaurant began the year of my birth - I thought this would be a great choice for some good New Mexico comfort food! But, alas, the experience was otherwise. I ordered the "Famous Burnt Cheese Tacos," where the tacos...More

We were driving through Las Vegas, NM and decided to stop for lunch. We were actually looking for another restaurant , which we couldn't find, and instead found this instead. The food here was very very good and the service was great. My wife and...More

There burnt cheese tacos were the worst. So greasy they were falling apart I could not even eat them. They charged me anyway. Will never go there again.

Rest of the menu is ok, but Chicken fried steak is a rarity in LV, and these guys make a good one. Ambience is quaint like a 50s diner.

We've stopped here several times en route to Denver. Classic OLD restaurant! Dates back to 50's or 60's - decor and atmosphere are cute. Well kept & good Diner type food. Prices are very reasonable. We'll be back!

Food is okay, reasonably priced, but it took 45 minutes from ordering to get tostadas and a BLT. And they weren't even busy-- we got there at 12:50 so not an off time for lunch. Frustrating visit.

We had heard good things about Hillcrest and were not disappointed. If you like a family restaurant that's not part of a chain give this one a try.

The special the night we visited was BBQ ribs. I cannot say enough about how juicy, moist, flavorful and tender these ribs were. I have never had such meaty ribs that just fell apart. The only challenging part was thinking they would be like BBQ...More
