Most miserable and god awful meal I ever had. It was more Fancy Ketchup than BBQ and more Fancy Ketchup sauce than meat. I sent it back for meat with no fancy ketchup and the cuts that they returned were not fit for my dog to eat. On a more positive note but by far from being good was the... More

We were on the Turquoise Trail, returning to Santa Fe from a morning on Sandia Peak to the south. We walked in for a quick bite of lunch, and were so pleased with the result. The place was actually quite busy on a quiet Friday off season. Plenty of folks were dining outside but we thought it just cool enough... More

As advised by another contributor, we took State Rd 14 through Madrid on our way to Santa Fe. The smell of barbecue slow cooking made our decision to stop at The Hollar. The brisket wrap hasn't made it onto the menu yet, but certainly should! Using a recipe handed down from a friend, the barbecue sauce is delicious, meat melt... More

This was out third trip to Madrid in the last three years to visit the art galleries and we look forward to lunch at the Hollar. I really like the pulled pork biscuits with a side of sweet potato fries. My wife, a pescetarian, always enjoys one of their salads (this year with shrimp, green and tomatoes) and our friend,... What a hidden gem! Burgers on a biscuit and chicken on a biscuit were amazing. The fried okra was cooked to perfection. The wait staff was friendly and kind to my children - we will definitely come back!

The Hollar is a favourite of our friends in Santa Fe so we accompanied them to try it out. We were assured that the burgers would be delicious and they were! Clearly high quality meat. Excellent friendly service and altogether a great experience. Very good value.

Limited menu - the items they serve, they do well enough. Suggest the outside seating if the weather is good.

This is a down-home place with some interesting options. Not many options if you are a vegetarian. I did not see if there was indoor seating; we sat on the patio with a nice southern exposure. People are smoking around you, but there are areas you can sit away from the main crowd. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. I... More

Just the best--buffalo burger, cheese grits, fried green tomatoes! Friendly, prompt service. Top-notch, locally brewed Scotch ale and India pale ale. We'll make this restaurant a regular stop every time we visit the Albuquerque area. It's on the Internet including Facebook.
