We are traveling and decided to make a stop in Las Cruces. When we checked into the springhill hotel, a young man at the front desk told us to come eat at this place. No regrets! The food was amazing, service was outstanding, and the location is perfect. We walked at the plaza after our delicious meal. We will make... More

Seafood Friday (1st Friday of the month): Blue Point Oysters on the half shell, changing entrees. Prime rib Thursdays. New Mexico's only on-site beef aging room. Excellent food and service in old-time splendor.

To put things into perspective, we are from Dallas where food is GREAT, so this food is just "meh". But, if you are visiting and you want some NM "history" this place is interesting. If you are wandering around Old Town Mesilla anyway, it's a decent place to stop for a bite. But you can look at the historical building... More

We celebrated our anniversary here and couldn't have picked a better spot. The décor and ambience was amazing. All the meats are cured in house from 30+ days and they were delicious, flavorful and melt in your mouth. The sides complimented the steaks. Make sure to save room for the Bananas Foster that is made tableside.. Amazingly delicious.

We've been coming to the Double Eagle for nearly two decades, and it is certainly a landmark to which to take visitors - an historic building, with beautifully restored rooms and bar, and ghosts to boot! The food has not lately been up to its earlier standard, at least in the patio setting. Look carefully when ordering...the club sandwich is... More

I was under the weather, so we split take out brochettes of beef over a big salad and ate in our room at Josefina's Old Gate Inn nearby. This was our first trip to New Mexico and if this is an example of New Mexico beef, I want more. The beef was so expertly cooked, was so meltingly tender and... More

Double Eagle/Peppers Restaurants are gems of Mesilla. Double Eagle is a steak house with charm and class. Their aged steaks and prime rib are excellent. The side dishes are equally well prepared. Delight in the old world dining rooms that had once been a Spanish home in the Mesilla Plaza. Stamped tin ceilings add to the ambience with beautiful mirrors... More

We had dinner here for a birthday celebration. All meat is aged on site and WOW. It is flavorful and melt in your mouth filet. We finished off the dinner with the Banana Fosters. Wait person asked if we wanted pecans but failed to say there was a cost for them. Found that out when the bill arrived. Was slightly... More
