Apparently Peppers/Double Eagle are one and the same. The interior courtyard seating is beautiful and lush, and the private dining rooms are gorgeous. Food is great and reasonably priced. My fajitas were $13. Although the steak was a bit tough it had a good flavor and the accompanying beans, rice, tortillas and peppers and onions were great. Drinks are pretty high... More

We had a wonderful lunch here today. The history of the restaurant was very interesting and the authentic decor was absolutely beautiful. The service from staff was top notch and the food was phenomenal. It was a little pricey but well worth it to eat at a quality restaurant. The aged steak(only place in New Mexico that ages beef) was... More

The Double Eagle is located in one of the oldest haciendas in Mesilla, NM, 5 minutes outside of Las Cruces. Built in the 1800's, this building houses one of the best steakhouses in Las Cruces. Dry aged steaks are the main attraction. The building was decorated by John Miggs, art collector, antique dealer and all around bon vivant. The full... More

We were visiting the historic town of Mesilla NM, and were thoroughly charmed by the outstanding food, romantic atmosphere, and classical ambience of the DOUBLE EAGLE restaurant. It’s a beautiful building, with gold ceiling, numerous large ornate mirrors, huge French chandeliers, beautiful museum paintings, and luxurious diner table settings. The large bar is ornate and charming as well. This unique... More

Wow! A little gem hidden in the desert. We ate there with my son and it was amazing! Service was outstanding. But you have to take a tour of the Restaurant. Simply beautiful!

The Double Eagle was said to be a great place in Las Cruces for a steak. So here we are. It's a beautiful place in old town, well appointed and has a wonderfully attentive staff. They have a good selection of specialty cocktails and a strong scotch list....the wine list is not as fleshed out but there are some adequate... More

Stopped here for drinks after supper. Great spot. If we had two nights in Mesilla I would have gone here for supper also. Interesting building with dining/ lounging areas spread over several rooms. Nice bar area. Yummy margaritas.

Went here recently for the umpteenth time. Great lunch dishes. Fantastic atmosphere. Good attention to detail. Also, the dinner menu is a full choice of wonderfully cooked entres. Everything is fantastic. Personal favorite is green chicken enchiladas, but everything is good here. A must stop when in Old Mesilla.

We went for the Sunday brunch. Everything was really good on the brunch buffet. Salads and fruits were very fresh and nicely displayed. Entrees were varied -breakfast and lunch items and all were fresh and hot. The only negative was our server was disorganized and forgot to fill drinks, get condiments etc. We had to flag someone down for service.

Two restaurants in one you can have authentic Mexican food or go to the steakhouse and have a delicious steak. We sat in the bar and I had Mexican my husband had steak. Cool old building. Great bar staff. A cool feature here is if you order a turquoise stone margarita you actually get a piece of turquoise in your... More
