My brother and I went to town for lunch and decided on la Cueva based on the trip advisor ranking....so glad we did! It's a tiny place with approximately 6 tables (more outside on the patio, but it was too cold). The staff was very friendly and the prices were reasonable. I had the combo plate (enchilada, relleno, and taco)... More

Great New Mexican style food! I've been many times (with various groups) and everyone has always loved the food. They can make anything on the menu gluten free, including the Chile Relleno! I love the veggie combo plate, but the specials tend to be really good too!

Nice little find for lunch, we sat on the patio . Waiter was very nice and attentive. You should definitely order the Chiles rellenos!

We visited this spot on the recommendation of a local business owner, and it is spot on. I am still yearning for the tacos I had here. Carnitas. The service was a little bit slow, but they were crowded and realistically, people have unrealistic expectations sometimes about how long it takes to prepare real food, because they don't cook! I... The ONLY authentic Mexican food restaurant in Taos. The mole is awesome and occasionally they have cochinita pibil. The service is genuine and great. I can't recommend enough. The inside seating is quaint, old and cool. The outside seating in the summer is perfect. Location doesn't get better.

Ignore the others, and don't pay any attention to the outside, or even the dust on the walls. You came here to eat, not sleep. You're likely not to venture in, unless someone tells you . . . then it is not to be missed. Sure, it's very small, very old, very dusty, very a lot of things . .... More

But the food was decent as was the value. If you want a Mexican meal, not leave hungry or feel your wallet is lighter and don't mind your surroundings and perhaps a bit of grunge it's probably the best value next to fast food in the valley.

This place came highly recommended. I'm always interested in local dives. This one doesn't look like much, and there's only a few tables in the main dining room. Lots of outside seating when the weather is nice, though. The food was amazing. I had the chili rellenos. They were spot-on! The beans and rice were good, too. Everyone had something... More

Some of the best New Mexican Food in the area. Looks like a dump from the outside. The food and service is great. Try their Chile Rellenos.

The four of us were exploring Taos. Got hungry. Searched. This place got great reviews. We found a parking space. Thinks were looking good! I entered the main entry and couldn't actually enter. Talk about a horrible arrangement/fire hazard. The entry is also the waiting room. Which was busy. Got a table and got the rest of the family. We... More
