Very good New Mexican cuisine, and they also have good sandwiches and desserts. Friendly service, and fast too. Try the chile rellenos, yum. Huge delicious burritos too.

We went there for the first time this month and wow, inexpensive and I had a huge great burrito. The green chili sauce is a gravy type with great flavor. The next morning we went back to see how breakfast was, great. I had Huevos rancheros. The place is small, but never had a hard time being seated. I think... More

Was in T or C New Mexico middle of August, spent a week camping, hiking, fishing and boating at Elephant Butte Lake. Time to do Laundry. Found this place next to the Laundry Matt, call Carmen's Kitchen. Spoke with the hostess and also with the Cook and ask if the Red Chile was home made and she said it was.... More

On a 26-day road trip, we dined in a lot of restaurants. We remember this as one of our favorites! The food was excellently prepared and the staff very friendly. When we asked which was less-hot, red or green, we were served a little bowl of each so we could decide. The salsa served with chips when we sat down... More

This is one of those places you just have to visit because it looks so cool from the street. I always appreciate it when restaurants and cafes spend time on their places and signs as it seems, to me, to indicate their pride in the place. If they have pride in the exterior, they probably also have pride in their... More

Had ground meat tacos. Meat was not very tasty. Did not care for beans that came with it, either. People were very nice but I would not go back.

Service is friendly, food is basic but very good - pork chops are huge by rest. standards. Inexpensive and no real competition in TorC

Best Mexican we have had on this trip. The tamales plate and relleno plate were both excellent. Very small, homey place with two friendly Women operating it.

We had tried the Mexican Restaurant next to Carmens and were so disappointed (greasy, dirty) but we had gone because the next door restaurant was bigger. We then went to Carmens and the food was excellent, inexpensive, clean and the staff was so friendly. We always get the breakfast or regular burritos. They are $4 and huge and so delicious,... More
