Food was okay, ambience non-existent. It seems to be pretty much the only option in White's City - and only until 7pm. Staff was friendly, service quick.

We arrived at Carlsbad Caverns on a Friday late morning and drove past the row of what appeared to be closed shops and this restaurant. We wanted to eat something before going down to the cave entrance so we stopped at the restaurant. I was very worried that due to no one being there, It was going to be a... More

I had the enchiladas, with green sauce. Very good, the way I like them a little spicy. The atmosphere was great. Been years since I had been there, but I plan on going back.

When we first arrived it was about 11:15 and we were the first customers. The server brought the coffee we ordered and we decided on the taco plate. Three Ground beef tacos, rice, beans, lettuce and tomato on each plate. The food was brought promptly. We enjoyed our lunch here, and before we left there was eight to ten more... More

The food here is basic Mexican fare - taco, burrito, etc., but it is at restaurant prices. Atmosphere is nice, and the staff is very friendly. Sunday's they have a buffet breakfast, but we were not there for that. I would eat there again, because the food is good.

You are better off eating at the cafe at Carlsbad caverns. As far as park cafeterias go, their selection isn't bad. The food at cactus cafe was seriously so bad. Even the grilled cheese sandwich was inedible because the bread was dry. My other kid didn't even want to eat the corn dog he ordered because the oil it was... More

When you're the only restaurant near a hotel and an attraction like Carlsbad Caverns, you really don't have to make a huge effort to get customers in unless you have some local competition - and this place doesn't. I visited September and when I got to the front door after a day visiting the caverns at 7.15pm, I couldn't believe... More

Horrible experience. Everything they have is frozen or from a can and heated. If you're staying at the Rodeway just buy the pizza they sell in the office.

My grilled chicken was tough, the mashed potatoes and Spanish rice we flavorless, the green beans were obviously canned and the dinner rolls seemed a bit stale. The burger was frozen patties and the fries were a bit soggy. The highlight and saving grace was the seasoning and the sliced bell peppers on the grilled chicken.
