This is the kind of place to go when you want comfort food, a good cocktail and friendly people around you. The atmosphere is always welcoming and you never feel rushed or crushed. Grateful to have this bastion of civility in Cherry Valley.

The Rose & Kettle almost makes the Berkshires' restaurants seems like fast food (Mezze in Williamstown notwithstanding). It's yet another upstate NY restaurant that prides itself on sourcing food locally, but that food happens to be really good! And the building itself is cozy and charming, housed in what looks like a house from the late 1800s with a farmer's... More

We were in Cooperstown for the opera and were told about this restaurant located in a small town about 15 miles away. Cherry Valley is a beautiful valley with interesting old homes, at least one gallery and small businesses. The restaurant is located in a renovated older home. The menu was interesting with many innovative options. Much use of fresh... More

Pretty front garden and entrance. Beautiful mixed matched wooden tables and chairs on the interior. We enjoyed our cocktails. Pleasant and helpful service. Mussels were excellent. A very enjoyable evening. We will be back!

When checking in at Meadowlark Inn we asked for any help in local restaurant for dinner. We were directed to this gem and even got a confirmed reservation. The place is so pretty! Service was very quick and so pleasant. The house is so comfortable and inviting. My hubby had the meat loaf- lamb and beef mix I believe- is... More

Year after year, and even with owner changes, the Rose & Kettle never fails to satisfy. The secret: An engaging menu (but does anyone really order the meatloaf?), fresh, seasonal, local ingredients (order anything with heirloom tomatoes), a talented kitchen, friendly and attentive staff), a decent wine list, and very reasonable prices. I look forward to returning next year. Don't... More

Perfect for a pre opera dinner at the Glimmerglass, good food, a decent wine list by the glass and pleasant service. Only draw back the A/C was either turned down or not working properly, may be some one complained about too much cold air

We went on a Tuesday night and yes, we made reservations because it is summer and you never know how busy it will be. We were seated right away, water poured, drink order taken, specials read. 3 out of 4 of us ordered specials; they were superb- the cod was cooked to perfection as was my pork. Everything was seasoned... More

We stop in for dinner ever year on our way to visit family in the Cooperstown area. The atmosphere and service is wonderful and the menu has local fare as well as traditional. The dishes change and we are always happy with the creative additions.
