Poor service! Ordered gumbo but not really sure if it qualified as cajun gumbo..as advertised. To top it all service was as poor as it could get.
The food is pretty good, being as far away from Louisiana as it is. The portions are very good sized and reasonably priced. Some things, like the Andouille Sausage, are a bit too spicy (hot) for my preference, but if you like things hot, you'll enjoy it. I've been there several times and it was always the same, so it... The food here is so good. Anything blackened is awesome - especially the tenderloin tips. The chicken creole is awesome - and I've heard the shrimp is too. And the hush puppies are excellent. The restaurant is small, and can get a bit chilly in the winter if you're seated too close to the door. But the food is outstanding.... More
My boyfriend and I visited Chesters for the first time this past Thursday. We've eaten Chesters at the Erie County Fair and wanted to check out the restaurant. Upon arrival, we were a bit shocked to find that it was just a small place in a strip plaza. I just assumed it would be a full stand alone restaurant. But... More
Decided to stop there for some different type of food , all I can say is if you like Cajun style food this is the place to go in NY, you would have to travel to Louisiana to get anything better. The food was great service was good everything was reasonably priced. I would definitely go back again.
This is our second time we have been here. First time was many years ago when our son moved back from New Orleans. He wanted cajun food, and was not disappointed. Traveling back from Buffalo yesterday, we decided to try Chester's again. Nothing has changed. The food was outstanding, the service fantastic. I wish I could remember our waitress's name,... More
Our friends recommended this place as their son had taken them there years earlier. I guess this place won an award and I can see why. Nice clean tables, cool and dark on a hot and steamy day. Quite the choice of cocktails. The Cajun Bloody Mary bites back and it was wonderful. Amazing selection of entrees with the appropriate... More
4 of us went to Chester's for a birthday dinner and they did not disappoint! Chrissy our waitress was awesome as well as the food. We got the fried pickles w the amazing horsey sauce (I could bathe in that sauce 😉), cheese quesadilla, hush puppies and onion straws to share. Everything came out promptly and was delicious. Our meals... More
