The inn is quite unexpected once you get inside with its eclectic lobby level decor which we loved. From the outside you expect otherwise. We went for high tea on a Sunday afternoon which fell way short of our expectations. We did purchase a Groupon which sometimes impacts how you are treated but we soon realized we were in good... I've been going to brunch and dinner at The Living Room at the Maidstone for the past 5 years. The interior is a treat, cozy and colorful, and the food is excellent (aside from a rough patch a couple of years back when they had some kitchen staff turnover). The Swedish meatballs are super tasty and a great fallback to... More

The atmosphere was wonderful, with indoor seating with various couches, chairs, and decor. The outside had tables with white tablecloths as well, and a couple of couches and cushioned seats, in a garden setting. It was quiet and enjoyableWe weren't rushed and the staff attended to us in a timely manner without hovering over us. We had a choice of... More

Beautiful location in the Maidstone Hotel which prides itself on the Scando, cozy vibe. You need to like the food that goes with the place. I recommend a dish with salmon. Swedish meatballs and mashed potatoes were a hit with the men. The white burgandy was perfect! Nice outdoor seating if you prefer it over the low ceilings inside "The... More

Our dinner at The Living Room was amazing. Food: delicious. no complaints whatsoever. Service: perfect (fitting for the restaurant quality) Decor: beautiful, unique, not stuffy (despite the maidstone's old reputation for that) Ambience: vibrant, with plenty of space and comfort (i.e. not noisy and not people crammed together) We loved coming here, and will certainly return again! We actually ate... More

We went to Maidstone Inn for dinner and were captivated by its quaint environment, lovely porch and outdoor garden and food. The bar was quite busy when we arrived and it's pet friendly. Cute little decorations all around the Inn made it homey but not too busy. We ordered some oysters for appetizers (both the crispy peconic bay oysters and... More

Wonderful meal with food that was creative and locally sourced. Still dreaming of the kale salad, the terrific coffee and the donuts! Chef is amazing and the menu is varied and they can accommodate many different diets.

Entrees served before starter finished, taken back to kitchen, reserved ice cold-3rd time no taste. Crab pappardelle was tasteless. Waitress disappeared often. No serving coordination. Also, noisy and very expensive.

We recently went here for dinner. We sat outside with our dog and had a few drinks first. The drinks were both just bar drinks so nothing special. We then had the cheese plate. It was good, but was odd in that contained three soft cheese and no hard cheeses. We also had the fresh bread they provided, which was... More

At the Living Room, we identify the freshest and most naturally produced foods, creating world-class menu selections from what can be purchased through local, organic producers. This is the slow-food philosophy at work, and we believe it makes for the best-tasting meals in the Hamptons. Our chef uses the slow-food process to "cook with the seasons", coming up with mouth-watering menus of cuisine he calls "new American with a Scandinavian twist". Signature dishes include Scandinavian classics like Toast Skagen and exquisite desserts like Spring Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp with homemade honey vanilla gelato and Catapano Goat Cheese Tarte with homemade lingonberry sorbet. To complement, you can choose from more than 200 vintages from our extensive wine cellar. From local Long Island varietals to organic Oregonian boutique blends and standards from Europe, there is a wine for every mood and food at The Living Room.
