I was given the rong dish, and the service treated me rongly, got exactly what I was looking for, feels like home. I will come again if I ever visit those parts in my life time again, I was intrigued by the name of your...establishment, and my interest paid off. I got the rong food, and yet the right food.More
rong = wrong. food is very poorly made. They even charge for tea. Or you just drink plain water. A pricey fancy place but that's it.
We were here last november with my daughter to celebrate her birthday. As we arrived for a really late lunch (4 pm), the place was empty so I cannot comment on how fast the service is since we were literally the only ones there. The...place is very nice; great ambiance. The staff were very receptive. The food, contrary to other reviews, was very good. In fact, my wife was so impressed that she said that when she has guests, she will bring them over here. Portions were substantial thus making them a good value. Restaurant has a nice bar. It actually is on the second floor of a building and has two entrances. One at street level and the other one you climb up the stairs then enter the restaurant. There is a nearby public parking directly diagonally across the restaurant. But a lot of times it is full.More
Very rude waiter and fake Cantonese and Szechuan dishes with very expensive price. Will never come here again!
You know you're in a good spot when you walk in and the only other customers are Asian. My only regret is that we didn't ask the server more extensive questions. He tried to steer us to more ordinary food but we're on the adventurous...side. The pleasant owner came over for a chat with us after our meal. Next time, I'll go WAY out of my comfort zone.More
Nice place nice food reasonable price. I had spicy chicken soup, fish and tofu pot and pork with preserved veg pot. All are tasty and professionally handled.
Wandering around the neighborhood, we came upon the Rong Restaurant. We needed to catch an early dinner prior to heading to a concert. The Rong was right. We enjoyed a couple Tsingtao beers first and then had some lovely dishes. My wife had prawns and...scallions and I had beef and scallions. I would recommend either. The waiter was great although he didn't speak much english, we all figured it out. The setting is modern and relaxed. I wish wwe had time to enjoy more menu items, they looked very good.More
We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident.. We were looking for another place but they were closed. We were walking back to our apartment (new to flushing ).. We saw this resturante that is situated on a corner.. Looked at the menu and the staff...envited us in so we sat at the bar and to our surprise we ordered the garlic shrimp and the sesame chicken and it was by far the best meal we have had in flushing!.. We will defiantly be returning !More
My husband and I were staying across the street and we wanted a quick beer so we stopped on Rong. The staff was nice and very sweet. The bartender gave us little snacks because we only got drinks and weren't eating. I'd love to go...back and try the food. I am sure it is amazing!!More
Traditional Shanghainese food, menu was not large but food was quite good. Fish was excellent. Looks/feels new, and rated A unlike Asian Jewels down the block.
We were looking for a good restaurant close to the Hyatt Place. We immediately stumbled on it. It's a very short walk - less than a block. You walk up a few stairs to the dining room which is spacious with a wall of windows....Nice decor and attentive service. The boiled dumplings were very good as was the Szechuan chicken.More
In Flushing for business and staying in the nearby Hyatt Place the Rong Restaurant was handy - but turned out to be a very pleasant surprise two days for lunch. Cuisine is authentic, and well prepared. Recently opened (August) it has a fresh open decore,...attentive service and great food. We sampled two different soups, two varieties of duck, vegetable dishes, seafood, rice, noodles. My companions ordered in Mandarin so I can't say exactly which dishes we had, but I can tell you they all satisfied! I wold recommend a visit.More
