I am a positive kind of person and a fair judge of restaurants but when I say that my eating experience was not good then I mean it. I had venison pie which was drowned with vinegar and cloves and the pumpkin fritters were like...More

Thanks for your feedback I will take service levels up with staff. Venison pie is made with tamarind paste that has a vinegar taste. It is an old Cape Malay recipe and an acquired taste. It is not for everyone. Regards

We came to the West Coast National Park during heritage month. The first stop in die park was the Geelbek information centre and restaurant There is NO SERVICE. It is dirty with staff that you have to go and find. 3 milk shakes, a Grapetizer...More

Thanks for your response. We are in flowers season serving 1000 clients a day. Sorry that you waited 30 minutes. In other restaurants I would have been happy to wait 45 minutes when it is a busy as it was on Sunday. We are 145km...More

This was a re-visit after about a year. From the outset it was a disaster. The service was exceptionally poor. One of the coffee cups was dirty and had to be sent back for a fresh one. For what needs to be a showcase with...More

Good day I take note, we have been servicing cup to 900 people per day. I will look into this as this is not acceptable for me either. Regards

We travelled to the West Coast national park to see the flowers and as we arrived after a lengthy drive we decided to have lunch at the Geelbek Restaurant. Coming from Gauteng, I couldn't wait to get an authentic Bobotie and the blurb in the...More

In general, the Geelbek restaurant is holding a captive audience. There is nowhere else to eat unless you take your picnic basket. The staff and welcoming and polite. The food is overpriced, I think. Tasty, but not wow. The drinks are very expensive. For us...More

This review would have been worse if the milktart wasn't that good. I could easily have had a second portion. I think the pancakes are completely overpriced for what you get. The service was slow and the waiters seem to disappear completely. We eventually got...More

Food good, and well presented. Service average. Toilets a bit "public" in that you can hear what's going on from where you are sittingMore

Thanks for your feedback. The building is a National Monument and we did the best with the building what legislation allow us to do. We have advised Sanparks to do an ouside ablution block as it is their building. The request have been with them...More

They have a sign up that warns patrons that they move slower than the tortoises of the region. Please note - this is NOT a joke! It's a disclaimer. The food is mediocre at best. The staff are USELESS! And the bill comes as a...More

We should have read the reviews before going there but unfortunately the place has a captive audience for there is no alternative, not that I knew of. It was probably the worst restaurant meal I had in South Africa and I would have rated it...More

Went there hoping for a good, fresh and quick breakfast. Considering how close it is to farm lands you would think the food would be fresh - it isnt, so I recommend going across the road to buffelsfontein or just bringing your own food if...More

I am sorry for your experience, I am not sure which day you visited, but we would have rectified it. We serve up to 300-1000 people per day in flower season, I will take it up the kitchen. We get daily stocks, nothing stands for...More
