Penn Yan Diner was a little hole in the wall, and I do mean little... We waited in line to be seated, and were lucky to snag a seat at the counter relatively quickly. The food took a while to be prepared, but it was worth the wait. The French toast I had was good and my husband enjoyed his... More
We love the Penn Yan Diner! The food was very good, reasonably priced and the cook is a great guy! We only ate breakfast, but really enjoyed the simple, comfort food menu. Also, the hashbrowns are particularly good.
out of town for one night to see my daughter play college soccer. Looked up restaurant on google. Place is small, turned many customers away on a sunday morning because it was busy and there is limited seating. The food is cooked with LOVE! Would pick this place again and again if i'm ever in the area. Beats a chain... More
RM, thanks for the review. I had to chuckle when you commented on our staff being efficient. Recently a friend from out of town visited the diner for the first time and he said we look like we are in a beehive. With such limited working space we all know when to stop and go and that a hot pot... More
At 10;30am the place was crowded with Locals, Visitors, I don't know!! My Daughter and I sat at the counter and had an outstanding Breakfast. "The Big Steve" was made for Me, Thick and Meaty Sausage Gravy over home fries. Home made taste, Outstanding flavor.
Earnhardtatdaytona, thanks for taking the time to give us a review. Keuka College students have been eating at the diner to decades. Within the last year we are starting to have students drive down from Hobart William Smith as well. It is the tradition of home cooking that is the draw far more than the charm to reminisce of years... More
I love diners and this one is no exception. The waitress was very friendly and efficient (so much more so than Wagner's across the street). I had the mushroom Swiss Burger special. It was delicious and served on a homemade "diner bun". My only complaint is that the burger tended more toward rare than medium (which is what I ordered)... More
Sam, I apologize for the burger. We would have made it over for you. Thank you for the review. I so love it when folks come in pie. We once had a customer in his 80s that would have pie first then order a sandwich if he was still hungry. More
Great service, great food. Penn Yan Diner is one of the highlights of our Keuka Lake Holiday. Pick anything you will love it!
Awe, gee, thanks! We appreciate the review and are so pleased that you enjoyed our fare. We love it when folks choose to make us their place. Even if it is an annual trip because they don't love here year round. As my grandma would always say: Come again! More
Small, very cozy, friendly locals, good food with friendly staff and good prices. Old time diner feel.
65, it is so awesome to have you share your retirement with us! We are so blessed to have great folks traveling to our spot. May the road treat you well and the folks be as friendly along the way. Thank you for the review. More
We hit this diner on our way home from Red Tail Ridge Winery and it was adorable! Original diner with stainless steel/chrome exterior! We love when the food is prepared in front of you! How could we go wrong? Great place for breakfast!
Susan, I am so pleased that you enjoyed your dining experience. Just to clarify we are in Penn Yan NY, south of Red Tail Ridge winery in the village on Keuka Lake. Our building falls into the classification of a Post World War I wooden trolley car diner. The diner was built in Silver Creek NY, delivered over the rail... More
Best Bisquits/Gravy around. Enjoyed our visit. Just moving into the area from Ohio. Ambience is very retro.
Mr. Ahearn and I are so pleased you find our spot inviting. Congratulations on relocating to the best territory in this here continental United States. We believe in small batch cooking from scratch and the quality seems to suit most visitors. Thank you for a great review. More
