My family took me to Sonora for Mother's Day. The food, service and atmosphere were absolutely lovely. A few small picky things - my branzino had some bones, my son's chicken was a bit boring, and my spicy margarita had pepper flakes on the outside of the glass, which to me makes no sense and means a klutz like me... The food at Sonora was delicious. They had a set menu for Easter with many choices and bottomless mimosas. The ambiance and service was also great.

We love Sonora every visit and should come more often. Our visit today was to celebrate a birthday. The Guac was excellent as always. My Octopus appetizer was tasty but the octopus was fatty, if octopus can be that. The drinks and 1/2 price Wine Wednesday were great. Entrees were fish tacos and kale salad.

Wow, the food here is some of the best I've ever had. Creative and delicious offerings are contrasted with a front-of-the-house staff that would clearly be someplace else. Too bad, because the chef/owner know quality. Too bad they don't know how to hire a hostess/manager.

Our party of six for recent dinner at Sonora gives uniformly good reviews. The Latin American menu is imaginative and well presented, the lighting and ambiance warm and cheerful, the service prompt and friendly. We have been dining there for many years so our recent good experience was no surprise.

Sonora has been around for a long time, and with good reason. Chef Palomino does amazing things with South American and Spanish dishes, with the focus being on seafood. Usually even the best seafood places give you a bad meal now and then. Sonora, and all Chef Palomino's restaurants, has delivered excellent meals every single time, for many years.

Dined at Sonora on a busy Saturday night. Our group of four was seated on the second floor. The space is tight, and the service was too slow. Twenty minutes to get our cocktails and a different waiter came 45 minutes into it to take our dinner order. Diners seated on the uncomfortable high backed chairs were regularly jostled by... More

If you are looking for out of this world food with a Latin theme, look no further than Sonora. Chef Palamino is awesome both as a cook and as a host. There are so many great things on the menu from table-made guacamole, to awesome fish and many outstanding appetizers. Run don't walk to Sonora!

Wow - what a great little spot for incredible food. The trickier dishes, such as Mexico-Camarones Y Vieras, are not as well prepared mid-week. But this dish in particular is heavenly on the weekends.

Since Rafael Palomino—Sonora’s Executive Chef and Proprietor—opened the doors to this, his flagship Latin-fusion restaurant, he has received accolades from a broad customer base, including an “Excellent” from the New York Times. This creative, Colombian-born (Queens-raised) chef and author of five cookbooks, has since opened 8 more restaurants that span three states (New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania). Sonora, like Palomino’s other restaurants, boasts excellent service and mouth-watering dishes, paired with an extensive wine list and cocktail offerings. In addition to impeccable service and delicious dishes, Sonora’s two-story home offers guests the possibility of having a custom-designed and catered on-site private party, for any occasion, from 12 to 110 people.
