I'd never had sushi before and my brother decided to take me here. He's a well traveled guy, worked in Japan on occasions, and said this was some of the best sushi he'd ever had. I was left to his mercy and let him order everything. The food was incredible. Thankfully I didn't have to pick up the bill as... More

The food took too long and it was not even busy. I wonder how they are going to manage tonigth on Valentine's day. The appetizers took 15-20 min; the main course took about 25-30 min (1 roll and 1 noodles). When I asked how much longer the waitress did not know how to answer; she went to check on the... More

Stuck in traffic with a hungry family we were searching on the phone for nearby places to eat. We all craved Japanese that night so we found SATO. Let's try it we said. When we entered looked a bit dark and quiet even though it was quite a few patrons in. First thought was we will be in trouble with... More

My family and I have been eating there for a few years. The sushi is delicious to say the least. My kids enjoying every visit to the place. The staff is not very quick to respond to you but when they do their order is always done right. However, I ordered their food based on their delivery menu, and I... More

My daughter is studying Japanese and wanted an authentic eating experience. One of her coworkers recommended SATO. We were very enthusiastically agreed by our server . I remember how to distinctively different smell. But when I saw my first case I realized why. Unlike artificial miso soup water down and tasteless from McDonald's caliber sushi spots around town, this was... More

SATO is in Rego Park, a couple of blocks east of the 63rd Avenue subway stop. I was here for lunch, having beef Teriyaki from the "Lunch Special" menu for $10. Miso soup, salad and rice were included. My food was excellent but it was the ambiance that impressed the most: This place is dark and romantic, especially if you... More

We had to wait 10 minutes for a tea after repeated requests. The food is reasonable but not better than the Japanese around forest hills station.

We've been coming to Sato for many years. Food quality and freshness are always great, and prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. They have a small room for parties, it fits 16-18 people. My favorite rolls: Volcano, Dancing Eel, Rainbow. Favorite appetizers - spicy kayaki (broiled seafood and mushrooms with spicy mayo) and Eel with Foie Gras... More

I love this restaurant. The food is great. The staff if very attentive. Sato is a warm & welcoming host. The food presentation is beautiful and delicious. The ambiance of the restaurant is dark and inviting. The location is actually at the border of Forest Hills & Rego Park.

Yeah, this is my all time favorite sushi place in all of NYC. So much so we really don´t want anyone else to know about it.
