Most popular resto in town, variety of food choices. Food is so delicious and the price is just right. Staff is attentive to our needs.

I enjoyed my dinner at The Local. While the Duck Two Ways was on the salty side, it was otherwise nicely prepared with vegetables and spaetzle, and the friendly, attentive service more than made up for it. Guests were treated to a complimentary hot coconut soup before dinner and peanut brittle for "dessert". I enjoyed my dining experience here and... More

Excellent dinner at this Rhinebeck restaurant. I would compare it with top NYC venues such as Gramercy Tavern, at the bar and Cookshop in Chelsea. As a last minute booking we were seated at the 'nook', a little bar counter across from the bar. We had excellent service from the barman with both food and beverages. The entire meal was... More

Creative menu and very well prepared food. I was happy to find such a sophisticated menu, and such reasonable prices. I would highly recommend it

Dinner for six. We got there late and our friends ordered about 5 appetizers. There was a mix of fried olives, hard boiled quail eggs, grilled zucchini bread, corn bread with fois gras butter, roasted almonds, fried oysters, etc. Good martinis, good bread, good attentive staff. The mains were interesting and decent portions. Rib eye with parmigian cheese and polenta,... More

My wife and I are surprised at the top quality restaurants in Rhinebeck. This is certainly a winner. Fine dining in a country setting. EVERYTHING on the menu is classy as well as the prelude shot glass squash soup and homemade hazelnut brittle AFTER a scrumptious dessert menu. One bad thing.....they should invest in a better cappucino and espresso!!!! I... More

The eclectic food is consistently well executed. Fresh local produce and exotic ingredients are combined to great effect. From the amuse bouche - spicy gazpacho with watermelon and rich butternut purée on my last two visits- to the selection of local Artisinal cheese, the food is interesting and good. Fresh oysters and duck three ways are family favorites. The American... More

The food is outstanding and inventive, very well thought out. We felt the service was inattentive, we had to flag our server down to have our water glasses refilled. We will be going back and do recommend this establishment.

The food was excellent. The opening course was fried oysters. Delicious. We had a bakers dozen but should have had only 6. Too much to digest. My wife had the duck 2 ways and I had the had the special 2 ways chicken dish. Both were great. It ended with the sundae desert. The service matched the food. Professional and... More
