My favorite breakfast place in Rochester. Numerous specials every weekend and friendly service. It is a small pace and gets quite crowded so get there early (before 9am) if you don't want to wait. The Big Mofo is the best.

I have heard so many good things about this place that I finally had to check it out. The waitress was really friendly & kept our coffee cups filled. I ordered the corned beef hash that was homemade & not out of a can. It was fantastic! The waitress told me that they often run out of it because it's... More

Looking to try some place new parking wasn't bad with a parking lot next door. When we first arrived there was a small line wait time wasn't bad. The breakfast menu is huge they have weekend specials that change weekly according to our waitress. After we ordered took a while to get our food but we were in no hurry... More

You know when you walk into a place like James Brown's you're going to have a great breakfast. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and the food was just what we were looking for. The sound creaking screen door, as you enter, brought back memories of old school diner - luncheonettes' of a gone era. The coffee was great and... More

Come once a year during RIT family weekend. Always busy and usually have to wait outside. Wide variety of breakfasts and nearly all are excellent and have generous portions. Pancakes are cooked to perfection. Waitresses are busy but usually pretty efficient. Watching the cooks is fascinating.

I had two mornings in Rochester and I spent both at this special little diner/luncheonette. My biggest regret was that I was unable to come back to try any of their lunch items. Even though I was a visitor, I was made to immediately feel like a regular. The staff are welcoming, friendly and the chefs are talented. I live... More

I used to go to this place all the time, it was my favorite neighborhood place for brunch and breakfast, I was a regular, but after being rushed out the door after my meal by an obnoxious waitress/hostess not once but twice in the span of a few weeks, I was DONE. Sorry this took so long to write, I... More

The place is a little run and dingy but was absolutely packed with people. The waitress was a little sassy and reminded me of Shirley from the show What's Happening. (Does anyone remember that show?) She was sassy but priceless and she made us laugh and took good care of us. I also remember watching the cook. He was like... More

This was the first time that my family and I visited this restaurant. They give you plenty of food and it's a very fast paced place even when it's super crowded. You have a choice to dine inside or out. Either way, you will enjoy the food and atmosphere. I love the pancakes and pan sausage. Yummy.
