Old world dining. Best bar (and bartenders! Paul and Vincent- can't get any better). Quality of food an wine amazing- everything from clean seafood to elegant comfort food. Not to be missed!

Stopped in recently on a rainy day while visiting Sag and had two terrific bloody mary's (they use a pepper-infused vodka and fresh tomato juice, which makes all the difference) and a couple of lobster chowders. The restaurant at the American has a hoity-toity feel to it -- liveried wait staff at a vacation restaurant is a little over the... More

The American Hotel is a classic, old world hotel. Beautiful old time wood bar , tables, decor and excellent food. The rooms are a bit small but again, its over a 100 years old. The place has a special personality to it and is ncie for a special night night. It is pricey but, for a special night, its worth... More

Servers of wine, bread, food, etc. were fantastic. Waiter was pompous and unpleasant. He was curt and cold.

While overpriced, we did enjoy brunch here. The food was tasty, the staff attentive and the setting beautiful....especially as the restaurant was still decorated for the holidays.

Great ambience and great food! A classic of the East end and of a tradition that bridges the best intertwining of European and American food and hospitality.

Second time here and both times the service was poor. Food is good but why the attitude? Wish customers were their priority - had a great steak but next time I'll wait and go to Rothmans. Better food and better attitudes.

Old world traditional dining room. We enjoyed it for a special Anniversary dinner, and also nice for hosting guests at a nice Brunch. Front porch tables very sought after in the summer for see and be seen lunch or dinner. Quintessentially Sag Harbor main street institution. Excellent friendly pro service both times. Food on pricier side, traditional dishes no surprises... More

The food is always first rate whether for lunch or dinner. Professional service in a charming atmosphere. A delight to dine on the outdoor porch in spring, summer, or fall. A definite go to restaurant in Sag Harbor.

Ate here one night as it was recommended in a magazine. It was so beautiful, we love olde worlde atmosphere, firniture, service and you get it here. Waiters so lovely. Food all delicious. My duck exvellent, cheesecake creamy and tasty. Were a bit shocked clams were raw but our fault should have known. Great beers to.
