We have been here for a number of retirement parties in the banquet room. This was the first time actually eating in the restaurant itself. Very nice variety on the menu, server was excellent and very personable. Food was also excellent. Prices a little on the high side. Would definitely return.

I have driven past this fairly nondescript restaurant 100+ times and we decided to make a reservation and try it. It is a 78 year old family business/restaurant with a traditional + fine dining style Italian menu. Across the board they were able to offer Gluten Free options for me. I had an excellent white clam/shrimp on pasta (GF) and... More

Enjoyed fabulous dinners and service at one of our very favorite restaurants! Lindsay our server was very attentive, as always, despite a very busy night. Meals were perfectly prepared and oh so delicious. Looking forward to leftovers tonight! Family business, chef owned and operated and they always aim to please their guests! We shared the carrot cake and the mud... More

Enjoyed fabulous eggplant parmigiana and lasagne dinners. Dined with friends who also enjoyed their meals immensely. It was Veterans Day weekend and the owner/chef was offering 50% off the veterans meal when ordering a second entree. Couldn't be happier with our experience. And kudos to this kind hearted and fabulous chef for giving back to our service men and woman!

I called Panzas and talked about concerns regarding my mother-in-law's difficulty in hearing and need for space to navigate her walker through the restaurant. I also made a reservation for 7 at 7 for a Friday night. As the day of the dinner progressed, I received messages from 2 people who would not be able to be on time because... More

We used to go this family run restaurant with my parents over 25 years ago and the food was still amazing. On a recent visit with friends we realized nothing has changed, other than the fact we all got older! Everything is traditional family recipes that have been handed down, with a few modern "tweaks". Three of the people in... More

This is a nice little restaurant that I visited with my fiancee a few weeks ago. The service was good and the staff were all very kind. We had wine and pizza and the pizza was very tasty; it was cooked well and very flavorful. Our Chianti was excellent and the portions were very generous. It's a nice, quiet restaurant... More

Went to Panzas last Saturday for dinner. Had not been there for awhile. Said to my husband that I forgot how much I like the place. Had Calamari as appetizer and it was cooked properly. Absolutely delicious. My husband had Seafood Cioppino and enjoyed it. I had the Shrimp Sorrentino and it was great. Nice atmosphere, music and good service.

Description
In a city steeped in tradition, from its historic healing spas to the horses, there is only one family owned restaurant that has endured for over 75 incredible, edible years - Panza's Restaurant.

Panza's bakery opened its doors in Mechanicville in 1897. That was the first time Upstate New York experienced the delicious Neapolitan style brick oven baked pizza and other secret family recipes our relatives brought with them from the old country. Ma Panza and her husband Joseph were unable to speak English when they first arrived from Napoli, so they allowed their cooking to do the talking for them, and did it ever. Everyone in the neighborhood was talking about this new baking sensation called, "pizza." Ma Panza's authentic brand of home style Italian cooking became a staple in the Capital Region, and has continued in their tradition spanning more than five generations and still using the same brick oven Ma Panza cooked in.

Today, we still offer the same authentic Italian fare Ma Panza made back in the late 1800s, serving guests in our restaurant and providing extensive catering services for banquets, weddings and events.
