It is a small restaurant but with a friendly staff and very good food at a fair price. We stopped after a tour at the Beckman farm for lunch on a cold day and had hot tea and great sandwiches, and then topped it off...More

This place just isn't very clean. We're not obsessed about cleanliness and have happily eaten in many a dive. But this was just plain off putting. Dirty bathroom. Dirty silverware, with food stuck on. Opened, unrefrigerated salad dressing, which our server shook up with his...More

The carrot cake was wonderful, have never had one before that was this outstanding. The corn chowder was excellent. The carrot ginger soup was just okay. The turkey sandwich was good... could have used a piece of lettuce or other greenery to jazz it up.

The curry chicken salad was good, but could have used a little more seasoning, even a pinch of salt would have helped and some more mayonnaise. The chunks of chicken were too large for me, but others might like that. Others in my group had...More

Visited this lovely and slowly renewing spring resort town at the Black Cat for lunch and found a very hospitable host and casual atmosphere. Chose the Ruben, made on toasted homemade rye, with just the right amount of high quality corned beef, fresh sauerkraut, Swiss...More

Yes, it's a little cramped but that's part of the charm! It's really a hidden gem.
