We couldn’t have asked for a better venue and space to have my bridal shower at. The Country House is a beautiful and historic restaurant located right in Stony Brook village and has so much charm and history—we absolutely loved it! The restaurant was decorated...so beautifully; filled with lots of flowers, greenery and pretty lights. The staff were ALL so amazing, kind and helpful from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Bob & Zach were extremely hospitable and accommodating to everyone of our guests and made the day so nice. The food was delicious and bountiful. We started the party with appetizers that included lobster salad, cheeses and meats, dumplings, shrimp cocktail, zucchini fries, chicken cordon bleu bites and so much more. For the seated entrees, guests had the options to choose from a pasta Bolongese, Chicken Milanese, pasta primavera or grilled salmon. Every entree (from what I’ve heard) were delicious! A champagne punch was also offered as guests entered the restaurant and servers walked around offering wine, beer and soft drinks. My cake was beautiful and so delicious, on-top of the assorted dessert plate that was given to each guest with tea or coffee. Appetizers, entrees, cake, assorted desserts, flowers, beer and wine were all included. Everything was better than the next! The staff really were the cherry on-top to how amazing the day went—we can’t thank them enough for being so great! They even helped us take out, the many presents we had piled up, to our cars and were just so helpful.More

The best party we’ve ever had!!! Bob and his wonderful staff, in particular our server, Loretta, made our son (SUNY Maritime Grad) feel incredibly special. We were treated like family with such great service and heartfelt wishes! The cocktails were fabulous-I had and loved the...peach Bellini! The food was truly outstanding!! Every dish, from the beurre blanc Scottish salmon, pasta w.short rib meat sauce, pork chop w.apple-cranberry compote, and lobster pot, was delectable and prepared to perfection!!! Lastly, the custom cake was ever so special and delightfully delicious. My family and I don’t have enough words to adequately express just how wonderful our experience was, except to say we can’t wait to plan our next party at The Country House. Thank you, Bob! 💙⚓️💙More

I went as a guest of a guest! The food was served on passed trays to open the event. Everything was well-prepared and presented. The one drawback was the heavily spiced mustard on one of the dishes without any warning! The next course was on...a buffet table with hot and cold appetizers. ..nicely done as well. The last course on the steam trays was limited by the choices made by the bride and groom so no comment on selection. Dessert was fantastic! Wedding cake plus the added treats of chocolate covered strawberries, mini cheesecake and cookies.More

We visited the day before Mother’s Day for brunch. There were lovely fresh flower center pieces on every table. The decor is just lovely. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Our waitress was Loretta. By far the sweetest and most attentive waitress...ever. Can not say enough good things about her! We choose from the price fix menu. The servings were very generous and everything was delicious. We didn’t even have room for the dessert so we took it to go. The presentation on the dessert in the to go box was amazing. I would say this restaurant is a hidden gem and we will most definitely be back!More

We have been coming to the Country House off and on now for almost a decade. I actually used to live within a stones throw of the restaurant on Main St in Stony Brook for quite some time. It was always nice to see the...Country House decorated like a big present, especially at Christmastime. I've come here for two wedding receptions, a mother's day dinner, a standard couples dinner, and a 50th birthday celebration. For the most part, the experiences have been great to above average, but there are a few things that you need to take note on that I'll go into in a moment. The decor is definitely country style. Some people love it, some hate it. I like the feeling I get when I walk in, but I wouldn't say that I love it. My wife does, and considers this place one of her favorites. Food has always been consistent in my opinion. If they ever have the tomato soup when you're there, order it....it's to die for. Prime rib has always been good, seafood good, and the desserts very good. Never had an issue with bad service, as the staff has always been friendly to us, no matter when we've gone. The only time we had a bit of an issue, which was disappointing, is that my wife and I were given a $100 gift certificate a while back that we basically forgot about. So after about a year, we found it and tried to go use it. The owner would not honor the full amount. He only honored half of it. So in my opinion, $50 of the gift certificate ended up being a donation to the Country House, which certainly leaves a bad taste in the overall experience. So, knowing this, if you are considering getting gift certificates to this location, use them quickly. Ours was over a year old, but so what? The money was paid and it should have been honored. Even with that, my wife and I have decided that we're not going to hold a grudge and continue to enjoy the Country House on whatever occasion we choose. We'll just pass on getting gift certificates and focus on enjoying the ambiance & food, and whatever company we're with.More

My husband and I celebrated his birthday here at his favorite restaurant. When we arrived and were brought to our table, Bob surprised us with our favorite wine chilled and waiting for us! As always, the food, the service, and attention to detail was perfection....Of course the beautiful decorations add to the experience! Although we have our favorite dishes (French onion soup, Lobster pot, filet mignon), the menu has been expanded and Bob is planning to add more, so we can't wait to return!More

The Country House menus are always pleasing and tasty. Why not call them and ask for the menu. Phone # is 631-751-3332. They may be booked already - they don't need to advertise!
