Cold beer, hot food - what else can you ask for on a chilly Syracuse evening? Beer selection is great and the few we sampled were excellent. The basement location is cool and funky. The service was prompt and friendly, the food was on the good side of OK but the portions were large. Go for the beer and maybe... More

Ate at the bar and tried a few of their beer samplings. Split a burger which was fantastic. Server was very friendly and kind. She shared with us a few of the highlights of the neighborhood.

No doubt about it, they make a bunch of great beers. Definitely worth a visit. Cool setting and feel to the place. One suggestion however, if you want more than a decent burger eat before you go. It's generally not a good sign when the fried pickles are the stand out dish.

Over the years have been to the Empire and it never disappoints. The variety of brews is great, with flavors/ seasonals for all to enjoy. The food is a step above your bar food, little variances/seasonings make it enjoyable. If you get a chance sit at the bar, they have some excellent bartenders who know their product and have great... The food was very good for brunch. I do wish there were more breakfast type choices included in the brunch menu and the service was a little slow but all in all an enjoyable meal with live music. Very reasonable cost for brunch cocktails as well as the meal overall.

While empire has fantastic brews (their own and other local craft beers) they are lacking in the kitchen. I've eaten here twice and each time left disappointed. The food is bland, flat bread was soggy, burgers were cooked to the wrong temperature. I'll go there to have a couple beers with friends or buy their beer at other venues, but... More

The beer here is good but the food is terrible. Super soggy and over cooked. My chicken was so dry it was as if I was chewing beef jerky

Even on a busy Friday night, we got great service! Loved the variety of food & drink options. I got a falafel burger, and my husband got a po' boy. Loved the White Aphro!

Description
Empire Brewing Company is a contemporary downtown bar and grill with a brewery on the premises. Here, we aspire to provide customers with the best food and libation available by utilizing fresh locally sourced ingredients. Whether it is vegetables and herbs grown in our garden, hops grown by our brewer, locally raised grass-fed Angus beef, or original music performed by our friends, we give our patrons an experience that can only be had at Empire Brewing Company.

The moderately priced and eclectic food menu is complemented by a diverse selection of hand-crafted ales and lagers. In addition to beer, Empire offers cocktails and a large selection of wine.

The atmosphere is casual and festive. The brewing facility is housed in a glass-enclosed work area which provides a view of the massive copper and stainless steel brewing vessels. The food is prepared in a handsome open-performance kitchen allowing patrons visibility of the chef and his assistants.

The interior decor highlights the industrial elements of the microbrewery, the drama of the performance kitchen, and the architectural nuances of the building. The understated design - featuring exposed brick walls, wood beams, and columns - pays homage to the brewing tradition and the pre-existing architecture. With clarity the aim and materials and ambient lighting the accent, a warm and inviting environment has been created for customers to enjoy the music, food, and beverages.
