The food is still the same, the atmosphere is still awesome. But you can tell it’s changed hands, and if they want it to ‘stay exactly the same’ they need to step up. The wait staff was so undersupported people were getting up from the...table and going up to the bar for drinks. The poor waiter was running back and forth delivering food so constantly it was humanly impossible for him to take orders. All the while the owner sat at a table with his friend drinking a beer, just watching his staff panic and stress. If they don’t step in and actually support their crew, they’re gonna crash and burn much sooner than later. Mr Sweeney would’ve never.More

I've eaten here twice in the last year and had a very nice experience both times. The burgers and the service are excellent. The atmosphere is wonderful, and you can't shake the feeling that you're somewhere in Ireland!

Nice pub, I really enjoyed the beer, fish and chips and watching the football games. Very clean and owner is very active taking care of his business and its appearance.

I have tried most everything on their menu and all that I have tried have been fantastic. I love all of their burgers, fish and chips, and they run a special that is called a steak wrap when I see this on the special board...I always get it!More

I love going to Sweeney's. I have not tried all menu items; however, their burgers, fish and chips, their steak wrap that is sometimes on the daily special board is delicious. They give you a choice of fries or onion rings and I always get...a generous helping. I never leave hungry.More

Great food, great atmosphere! Owners are Irish. Food was great and out quick. We had Sweeney’s nachos, delicious, large portion. I had the shepherds pie and my husband had a grilled chicken wrap, can choose onion rings (fantastic).

My wife and I stopped in to Sweeney's on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch and cold brew. We were not disappointed! This lively pub offered a great menu and very hospitable service. My favorite brew, Smithwicks, was a perfect pint! Highly recommended!

As others mentioned, it's a very friendly atmosphere from the time you enter. We were there for dinner. The menu had a lot of Irish Pub type of foods. My husband ordered the Sheppard's Pie. He found it to be bland, but in fairness to...the restaurant, we were thinking that it is generally made bland. I had the chicken cordon bleu sandwich which was good. The fries with it were even better.More

Visited twice, once for drinks, then for lunch. Nice friendly welcome but could lose a bit of the "Oirish" stuff. Reasonable range of beers and a decent enough menu. Companions liked the chicken wrap and my shepherds pie was better than expected. Handy tip -...add a dash or two of Worcestershire sauce to the pie for flavour and moisture. All in all, not a bad pit stop at all.More

Sweeney's often has live music of the Celtic variety, special events throughout the year, bartender's are the BEST, and the food is consistently delicious.

Love the Pub. Walking in is very inviting. The bar is open and spacious, with plenty of raised tables and dining tables to pick from. A few TVs for sports games, especially welcoming to soccer fans. The staff is friendly and attentive. We told them...we had a friend from out of town, so they offered us a tasting of the tap choices. We loved it. The only downside is parking, street parking only.More

My wife and I visited one snowy Friday evening. They do not have a parking lot and there is very little street parking so we had to park 3 blocks away. Atmosphere is typical Irish-American bar/pub. Reasonably friendly staff but there appeared to only 2...servers for the entire dining room. That resulted in slow, unattentive service. Lacking was the typical Irish music and dancing. Drinks. I love Guinness beer.. IN IRELAND. Never found it good here in the States. But, this IS promoted as an "Authentic" Irish pub, so I asked the server how they pull the Guinness. She promised that they "do it right. The owner insists on it." Okay, I'll try it. (I was encouraged by the fact that she understood what I meant by "pull"!) And, when it arrived an appropriate 5 minutes later, it did appear that they pulled it properly. That was the good news. The bad news is that it tasted like Guinness that had crossed a wide ocean. The flavor and texture wasn't quite right. Not horrible but not good either. My son's rule has proven true again: Never drink a Guinness outside of Ireland! My second beer order was Smithwicks (pronounced "Smit'-icks") The food. I ordered the Rueben sandwich. It was very good. On the small side but the small portion of corned beef was very tender and tasty. The French fries were good. My wife ordered the roast beef sandwich. She asked the server if the beef was tender and she said it was. I guess it's a matter of taste but my wife said it was not at all tender. She would not order it again. If the roast beef were better Sweeney's would have earned 4 stars rather than 3. I would probably return and try some other meals... But not the Guinness.More

Sweeney’s is a real Irish Pub with a friendly staff and great food. Guinness is always flowing and fresh. Recommend going here if you want to experience a real Irish Pub close to home. Also great place to watch sports and local entertainment.
