We had dinner at Two Tables and having read other reviews, were well prepared that we would be dining in someone's home-come-restaurant. Sadly, on our visit the homely touches that make such a set up work were missing - although the family were pleasant, there was no real introduction or apparent enthusiasm. Maybe after over 20 years that's to be... More

After learning about 2 Tables on Trip Advisor we decided it give it a go and we werent disappointed. As stated, it is in a families home. The daughter welcomed us, the son was our waiter and the Mum was the cook. It was a fabulous Swahili evening which we really enjoyed. If you're looking for a fancy restaurant, it's... More

The place screams local culture and cuisine. It is an amazing experience. You get dish after dish, all local, all homemade and all delicious. We had three entries and a main dish. You don't get to choose what you get, they simplu serve you what they have and that is part of the magic of it. My only wish is... More

Terrible experience! Never go there. I have no idea how this restaurant can be advised by Lonely Planet. The worst dishes I ever tried at Zanzibar with a Grand Finale of dry, hard, not-eatable tuna in a coconut sauce. And a bad feeling of invading a privacy of this home...

YES , we wanted something local and good but what we saw when we got there was beyond all expectations!!!! THIS IS NOT A RESTAURANT-THIS IS FAMILY Home!!! You enter the house in to a hall with a lot of things like a market and there I could sit on a chair covered with plastic and wait for my husband.... More

The restaurant is a famíly house. At the entrave You nave shoes all over and you starting asking about higienic conditions. The taste os the food can be good but after few seconds at entrance i loose the will to eat! Must be a well organize house.

Not very attractive. Cold welcome from the family. Food not bad. It is not what I would expect by such a restaurant.

Its fun to eat in a restaurant like this. In the home of a family who cooks traditional food. We have been to similar places and always loved the quality of food. This time it was different. The setting was good in de veranda of the home. But the quality of the food was not good and unhealthy as well.... More

Please don't expect a restaurant, but an experience. And you'll have one. The owner lets you into their apartment as is. The surroundings, timing or dining are not standardized like in a business. If you are patient and open minded you'll have a tasty dinner with a nice atmosphere and possibly also with a nice conversation with fellow guests over... More

Authentic food in a family home. I would suggest this to any food-lover visiting Zanzibar. Call to book ahead of time, and leave a little extra time to find the house (the sign is not very big.) Must specify vegetarian options ahead of time.
