My wife and I had lunch here recently and we were both very disappointed. There was no atmosphere in the place at all. I ordered the Buffalo burger which was supposed to be a crispy spicy chicken burger which had hot wings sauce on it. What I got was incredibly bland and flavourless and it was also really dry. My... The hot spot bistro had a good selection on its menu. The food was ok but nothing special. There are much nicer and cheaper places to eat in stone town.

I really didn't think much of this place, it's trying to be too many things at once. It would make a nice cafe, if they stuck to that, but it's also a souvenir stand, travel desk and is making an attempt at being a regular restaurant too. The cake wasn't bad, though.

I find the coffee so so, but sweets are some of the best found in Stone Town. Wi-fi is good, staff is attentive but not too pushy. It is relatively expensive, actually the most expensive coffe/cake-constallation I've had in town though it will not end up more than 10000TzS. Place is nice and cozy and I do not find all... More

I spent 10 weeks in Zanzibar, and Hot Spot Bistro quickly became one of my go-to, favorite restaurants. The staff is THE nicest in Stone Town – always friendly, yet not intrusively so (which tends to happen a lot of places in Stone Town). Menu offers quite a bit of variety – pizza, burgers, wraps, salads, and more “traditional” type... More

I would not rate my meals among the best I've had, but they are close to the best you can get on Zanzibar! The garlic butter kingfish are great, and the springrolls and samosas are good as well. Good variety of coffee drinks. Free wi-fi that actually works well. Great place to hang out in stone town!

I was surprised at all the great reviews. The food was very average. Under-seasoned salad, over-salted veg, and sauces on the side left the fish dry and hard to swallow. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The ambience is probably better for lunch. I didn't try desserts or coffee, so maybe I missed out.
